A: Proving left-invariance (and proof-verification for right-invariance) for metric constructed from left-invariant Haar measure

MickG$\newcommand{\diff}{\mathrm{d}}$ Converting @Daniel's comment to an answer to get this question answered. The proof of 4 is, he says, correct. As for left-invariance, I merely have to exploit the fact that $L_g\circ R_k=R_k\circ L_g$, and do the following: \begin{align*} (\diff_gL_ku,\diff_gL_...

Q: Proving a compact Lie group admits a biinvariant metric

These two posts, and perhaps math.stackexchange.com/q/1658705/135592 as well, have me seeing perfectly rendered \mathrm{d}'s (appearing as d) whereas user153330 (is that the number?) sees \diff's (or something unrendered). Is there anyone else who sees this unrendered? Any idea why that might be?

i confirm it's user153330

Good :).
That is what I see from post 1. What do you see?

ok let me screenshot it
btw which browser are you using?

Firefox.
On Mac.
The app also renders the \diff's.
Android app I mean.

you will have to wait i don't know what's happening but my firefox stopped rendering mathjax i think i'll have to restart it

Firefox on Android does two steps: The first one has everything fine except for black squares instead of the d's, and then it renders those too.

OK.
The default Internet browser on my Android has a stranger intermediate step with square+d's. But then it gets alright.
And Mac Safari has an intermediate step where everything is fine except the integral symbols are of a different shape, which I think happens on Firefox too.

so i tried in Opera and it perfectly worked, it seems firefox is always stuck in that rendering of /diff

Curious. I also sometimes see MathJax not rendering, though usually in comments, and in inline math. And it shows nothing. But anyway if it now works in Opera perhaps you can ask for help on an appropriate SE site. What system are you using Firefox on?

@MickG windows 10, curiously it now works on firefox!!
