room topic changed to EpicTCK's New 6-bit Encoding Lang: drive.google.com/file/d/0B74tupuUkp4ieHNaWDJhaEZZMlE/… (no tags)
Hey

hi
stack-based? prefix? postfix?

So I've not come up with syntax yet, but chars a-z will be used for most operators because the only non a-z 0-9 chars I have are / and " .
Most likely stack based.

wow
that's clever

cool

byte saving!

3:51 PM
Really the only thing I have started on is the 6-bit encoding, so If anyone wants to help with stuff feel free.

@epicTCK You might consider reserving a character for multi-byte commands

how so?

e.g. ZA will be a command
ZB will be another command
Which golf-langs do you speak?

FOG, thats about it

:D Z is an extension in Jolf

3:53 PM
I get it now :)

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Wow what a coincidence

@KennyLau you mean 12-bit :D

you should learn jolf :3

@epicTCK ya

3:54 PM
so I could use any char I wanted to for the extension.. I'll find a really cool looking one.
Since i'm making the encoding....

nice

maybe U+1F951 lol
oh shoot.

I can work on an encoding thing maybe

We need to figure out how to print symobls like . , <> ? I don' have room in the encoding. We could use some kind of escape sequence inside strings for that, but then the char ! would be 12 bits, and that would suck.

DANGIT
Ok so we could extend to base 7....
hmmm
Any ideas?

4:00 PM
How will we write the header?

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Jolf?

yeah
converts 6-bit text to 8-bit

nice

# epicTCK's new 6-bit encoding lang, X 6-bit bytes is incorrectly found by the leadboard to have 6 bytes.

six-bit bytes

4:03 PM
Maybe the header should be # epicTCK's new 6-bit encoding lang, X six-bit bytes or something like that.

phuh struck by gods

just use decimal: 0.75 bytes

@epicTCK Incorrectly found by the leadboard to have 75 bytes.

4:05 PM
that's downgoat's problem

#sexylang (sexy = related to six)

Maybe sixylang?

¾ bytes
¾

¾

4:06 PM
,_,
34/

cool
so we would have to copy the name every time

@zyabin101 already exists AFAIK

@epicTCK Sixylang? Link?

NVM its 6ix
not sixylang

4:12 PM
42/7 lang
idk

I Have a solution

@epicTCK Which Solution?

Ok. We escape the capital letters and get the symbols.
So i'll edit the spreadsheet and then we can get back to work

@epicTCK Is the name decided?
and what is p (parentheses)?

4:37 PM
@KennyLau no.

How about Xesh? (kind of random)

The new new spreadsheet (should be final. sorry. )

5:03 PM
Ok. So next up is figuring language structure (stack based language) and what lang we/I will write it in. javascript, java, c#, or wait for it cheddar? (Once it's finished)

wait for cheddar :3

yeah but then I have to learn it....
I do think it would be cool to write it in cheddar.

@epicTCK JavaScript.

yeah
then port it to cheddar

3 hours later…
8:19 PM
kk

3 hours later…
11:22 PM
what are the two characters between I and J?
will it be focused on maths, on strings, or general purpose?
