@Erica Hm, I didn't realize that was what I was implying. My apologies to @Joe for coming across that way.

@anongoodnurse, Just interested in moderation style -- why not just delete a question like the "dry hump" one immediately and get it off the list? There's really no room for improvement there.

@JPhi1618 Good question. Mostly, leaving it up gives new users the chance to see what is not on topic. You'd be surprised how often we get "is/can my girlfriend (be) pregnant?"

Heh, yea, I've seen a few "can I be pregnant" posts.
Just curious - I know you guys have to run a pretty tight ship over here.

Also, sometimes, if a question is simply deleted, the user may think an error occurred, and may repost, which might go for hours (again) without getting noticed.

I've talked to Rory about it before over in the Mechanics SE chat room.

Those are my reasons. I'll ask the other mods, though. Thanks.

Oh, ok. Do they not get a notice and explaination of the deletion?

@JPhi1618 Was his answer different?
@JPhi1618 The user? No.

Oh, I was just talking to him in general - not specifically about this.

We can comment, but if they are unregistered users, no, they won't get the comment.

Interesting - I can see how that would lead to confusion.

Yes, that's a problem with unregistered users. :-/

I'd say that alone is a good reason to leave the question for a while unless its too vulgar or obvious spam.

Right. My thoughts, too, although that one is on the border for me.
:)
But thanks for bringing it up.

Heh, ok. Well, thanks for the reply! You do good work over here.

Community self-moderation is really a goal of mine.
(Again, thanks.:))
