6:52 AM
what did we decide to do here? OP last seen 2013... askubuntu.com/questions/345699/…

1 hour later…
8:17 AM
xy problem here... what to do? askubuntu.com/questions/437914/…

8:36 AM
I VTC as dupe, ignoring title of Q

9:15 AM
fixed by installing with DVD instead of USB askubuntu.com/questions/360451/… no repro or answer?

9:28 AM
@Zanna upvote
or OT as no-repro?

hmmm... maybe it's no fix, I don't want to accept it's not possible and we need to buy something?

hmm
It's a good idea to label upvote if we see a q with upvote. That will help us later if we want to see an stat imo

yes, sorry, thank you for doing that...

no need to be sorry :)
so what are we doing with that q?

hmmm... I think no fix

9:36 AM
voted with comment

ok, I'll support :)

archived the card

oh I see I retracted my vote... gah
upvoted your comment

can we flag an answer if it is too vague? askubuntu.com/questions/453495/xubuntu-14-04-clock-laptop

yeah I think so... that question is getting closed though...

great, definitely agree with that, just thought it might be my lack of knowledge
It seems like they want an IDE for bash?

Bash is not a gui supporting language. Is it? I think they weren't too familiar with it.

shrug not afaik... Q seems unclear and vague
hope reviewers agree
or come up with an answer!

well... we can answer that question
OK. Answer it

I can't answer it, rather close it
but maybe someone will know better - every day I see questions and think "what? surely not!" and someone gives a brilliant answer

9:50 AM
Oh. But as far as I know, bash is not used in GUI.

well you can give a clear answer then if you want :) my answer would be "hmm I don't think so"

A bash IDE? Nuclear fission to boil water for tea... — jasonwryan Mar 8 '14 at 23:00

lol ^_^ yeah exactly

10:16 AM
That link has answer imo. The second one. Bash isn't used for GUI building. So, a GUI builder for shell is absurd

agree

I saw the question with baytrail devices. Was that question different?

no it's a dupe I think, unless their problem is not c-states

I was thinking same
My answer would be this stackedit.io/…. should i post?

I'm hoping that they just made a mistake - Win's answer doesn't help. I thought their device has same processor as me - boot param works flawlessly

10:24 AM
hmm. let's see

@Anwar yes post it and I will upvote
you put in pending and I don't understand the answer at all askubuntu.com/questions/361806/…

That's NAA

I'm downvoting the Q
someone seems to think it makes sense... the Q I mean... but not me...

let me read again
duping to this seems better askubuntu.com/questions/46624/…

perfect
excellent work

10:33 AM
1 less question to bother about

getting close now, hopefully we will more or less clear it this week

hope so

need the community to help us because we're closing a lot at this stage

Answer added.
I had a plan/idea
At this stage, we'll gather all closeable questions in another list and we'll deal with them in 1 suitable session, hopefully with mods or some other members want to work with us for an hour or so

sounds like a good backup plan for the ones that don't get easily closed in 48 hours or so through the queue
@Anwar upvoted, labelled and archived the card

10:41 AM
@Zanna ah. Thanks. We can retract the CV now i think

oh yeah thanks for reminding! done

Another question saved from queue :D

^_^

I rearranged two lists

that's tidier

10:56 AM
installation from DVD worked, but not from USB. looks like a no-repro askubuntu.com/questions/360451/…
I guess, it's same GRUB installation device selection list selecting wrong drive

@Anwar yeah I mentioned that earlier here, I thought no repro too
voted :)

oh. forgot it. It's good to see that we aren't thinking inconsistently

yeah! we are a good core team ^_^

@Zanna better. That means community decided it as upvoteable

@Anwar cool :)

11:03 AM
Briam was funny there

yeah!
could you add the -v flag and run that answer again, please

Ok, let me try

haha that was just my version of Braiam's comment, but you do a great job of improving answers in general

yeah. It seems --verbose flag returns good result

:)

11:10 AM
dino appeared. hi dino :)

I added my upvote but I wish I could give you rep with it for your efforts haha
hi lurking dino

@Anwar hi

bbl

cya :)

11:37 AM
recently fixed - needs another upvote askubuntu.com/questions/360411/…

12:04 PM
What to do? fixed in windows askubuntu.com/questions/369388/… ... reminds me I should try to fix my bluetooth with Win10 driver now (apparently works with new kernel)

12:16 PM
@Zanna added upvote

someone upvoted, but it makes no sense to me! askubuntu.com/questions/369612/…
@Anwar thanks :)
someone seems to have randomly upvoted a bunch of stuff in our pending queue...
maybe it's coincidence

who was it? any way to trace?

no way
nobody can see that

@Zanna yes. it is a solution. but that should be a dupe surely.

but they say the same thing fixes it but also hangs

12:21 PM
hangs for a moment I think
removed that part. It can happen

ok, it's fixed then... I thought maybe it was a typo

gnome-flashback includes two session. one uses compiz, one metacity. I think compiz one was messed
@Zanna can you list those questions?

and three more I archived that seemed fine to me
these look ok too I guess... not sure about them myself

@Zanna idk. can you see the deleted answer there? It cannot be a solution. but I guess something from bluetooth driver might have patched firmware or something

yes I can see deleted answers... (10k for that) helps a lot for this work
however, it's possible that installing windows driver in Ubuntu would work
that is a solution sometimes

12:38 PM
ndiswrapper was a project with this aim. But that works with only wireless driver afaik

I moved all those posts upvoted by someone else to reviewed by z, not sure whether that was right...
@Anwar hmm yeah...

if you agree with the votes...

does this look ok? askubuntu.com/questions/376256/… not sure why all the links...
@Anwar yeah, you're right... I put them there because the votes seem ok to me
but didn't archive so you can check as well

That's fine

ah the links are not working...

12:42 PM
@Zanna OP installed wvdial forcefully i think. because wvdial actually depends on those package
wvdial
  Depends: ppp (>= 2.3.0)
 |Depends: debconf (>= 0.5.00)
  Depends: cdebconf
  Depends: libc6 (>= 2.4)
  Depends: libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1)
  Depends: libuniconf4.6
  Depends: libwvstreams4.6-base
  Depends: libwvstreams4.6-extras
 |Depends: debconf (>= 0.5)
  Depends: <debconf-2.0>
    cdebconf
    debconf

yeah...
can you fix it?

ah. I see the point

In the question I have chars not displaying...

They can access the internet only via modem and modem works only with Non-Linux OS
I was in that situation few years ago

oooh makes sense
needs fixing though - links all broken

12:45 PM
yeah. I'm editing that one

thanks! can I help find anything?

the links are helpful.
oops. those are dead

yeah

fixing...
lucid is 10.04!

be good if we could update so it's not completely EOL

12:55 PM
fixed

awesome... thank you!
archived

ok.

1:17 PM
@Zanna as?

no repro I think as it's EOL to EOL!

it wasn't EOL when asked.

Maybe I should just edit the answer - am I being lazy? The answer is hidden by the bad formatting maybe

the answer to the question is do-release-upgrade
then they started another question inside their answer
and wrote answer to that question

yeah
exactly

1:22 PM
let me what can be done

you're doing all the work here...

we don't need that answer too. first question was a dupe and second question was also a dupe and fixed by an already existing answer. they typed the answer, but missed the formatting
here is the original answer askubuntu.com/a/363238/61218

yeah exactly, I want to close it to get rid of it

Can dino do this?

maybe we can do it

1:26 PM
CVed

can we flag the A?
I downvoted

try a custom flag
mention that, we really don't need that badly formatted answer.
and put the link with the flag

it's pure copypasta

yeah

we can NAA it no?

1:28 PM
you can flag once i think.
@Zanna dino fixed it

phew
thanks a lot @jokerdino

~.~

thanks to OP for putting the name of the answerer. otherwise it would be impossible to find
searching emo-dictionary

looks like a not very happy face to me

1:35 PM
flustered face
(my creation haha)

@Anwar great resource!

@Zanna just found while searching

2:14 PM
putting that in skipped by Z for now
OK, pending is empty, I have done everything I can do. So I am here just to offer my useless opinions until it's time to upload more cards. Maybe I can review the ones where we left a comment to see if anything can be done there

1 hour later…
3:31 PM
see askubuntu.com/questions/794725/… which has even more info and perhaps original post: askubuntu.com/questions/63610/…oldfred Oct 22 at 13:56
I wish they would just answer it! Maybe I can work it out and and edit the answer later :(

3:57 PM
@Zanna I hate those comments

That person always comments instead of answering

really! I didn't notice
3 posts edited, 4 votes cast
2,865 Comments

Lol
Someone upvoted here askubuntu.com/questions/307281
Looks alright?

I'm going to have food. will check later.

I wonder how many comments I've made lol
Enjoy :)

4:02 PM
Mine says 2366!

1234 for me hahaha
But I think I've deleted as many again

lol

I am in doubt - the whole thing is at least borderline OT/NoRepro.
OP states in the answer the the "system was fairly modified" then follows a convoluted history and the conclusion "I don't know what really fixed it".

yeah I have seen that post a few times and not wanted to upvote... wonder if someone has been looking at our board and randomly upvoting stuff

perhaps not randomly but like "wow that sounds impressive, all the work OP did"
@Zanna on a different track: would you say askubuntu.com/a/452344/117103 is really an answer? If yes, this card should IMO be moved to "not fixed"

hmm... I think that's a progress report and the situation is no-repro imo because we don't know how their system got FUBAR?
VTC?

Agreed, I didn't want to suggest NoRepro because that sometimes seems to be my kind of hammer (You know "when your only tool is a hammer all problems start to look like nails) :-)

7:46 PM
yes I do know that problem... we are tempted to resort to the no-repro vote here a lot

8:10 PM
hopefully we should be uploading new cards by Sunday or Monday and there will be some better questions with better answers we can joyfully upvote

:-) It's nice to work with you - "joyfully upvote" sounds really good :-)
g'night @Zanna

@guntbert haha thanks :) :) goodnight & thanks again!
