Q: When should a post on the main site be deleted?

KavehThere seems to be a lack of consensus on when a question or answer should be deleted and this frequently leads to conflict on the site. We should discuss the issue clearly and reach a clear policy. We can then use it as a guideline for users who can vote to delete (moderators and high reputat...

who is an Islamic Caliph?
He is a person whose responsibility is to make sure that all Islamic rules are being obeyed
Can you really believe that our first Caliph was among those violating Allah's right? Can you believe in such a Caliph?!!
I will never believe that my first Caliph was a cold-blooded sinner who never gave a damn to who he was disobeying! so I should either confirm the first Hadith and refute the second one or vice versa.
But this is all my own understanding of the issue. I'm not saying that I'm 100% right there might be a reasonable justification by witch we can reconcile between these two Hadiths.
Specially knowing that these two Hadith are quoted from Sahih Bukhari whose all Ahadith believed to be authentic.
we have to find a way to solve this problem

@Mujahid: each and every one of sane readers never hesitate to say that when a servant has made his Lord angry he must've disobeyed his Lord. The Prophet (pbuh) ordered them not to make his daughter angry and Allah ordered people to obey Him and His Prophet then our first Caliph disobeyed the Prophet. I don't understand why you can't get this simple fact!

@fatemah3 You're still not expressing any actual problem.
If you're looking for an answer from a particular perspective, you need to specify exactly which perspective you're looking for.
As best I can see, you're looking for an answer from some hypothetical group who (a) believe that Sahih Bukhari is 100% authentic and (b) believe that Caliphs need to be 100% infallible.
which describes absolutely no group of Muslims that I am aware of.
otherwise, the only point I can see to the whole question is for you to prove a particular point and get people to agree with you. Which is not what this site is for.

@goldPseudo You unintentionally admitted that there is an actual problem needing to be dealt with in my question. You said ""you're looking for an answer from some hypothetical group who (a) believe that Sahih Bukhari is 100% authentic and (b) believe that Caliphs need to be 100% infallible.
which describes absolutely no group of Muslims that I am aware of."" This is considered a possible answer to my question from your point of view. You think that Sahih Bukhari is not 100% authentic so you can simply answer my question that the first Hadith or the second one is not authentic and this is s
Moreover, Nobody claimed that Caliph has to be infallible!! Where did you find the word "infallibility" in my question? I said that a Caliph can not make the same mistake (commit the same sin) constantly for the rest of his life without repenting and compensating for it.
Additionally, If Sahih Bukhari were not 100% authentic, we couldn't call it Sahih. I don't know how much you are familiar with Rijal (critical examination and classification of narrators of Hadiths) and Dirayah (critical examination and classification of Hadiths) but Sahih in Rijal and Dirayah is a special expression for 100% authentic Hadiths.
Believe me. repeating this sentence "You're still not expressing any actual problem." is not gonna prove you right.

@fatemah3 I have no interest in arguing with you about either Abu Bakr or Bukhari.
i am merely explaining why your question is unclear.

@fatemah3 good, then we have no argument or disagreement on that point :)
@fatemah3 I am not saying making the Prophet or Allah angry is a good thing, surely it is the most worst thing in the world, but it is not kufr in most cases, and it is not shirk , and can be repented from

3:27 PM
@Mujahid Who said that making the Prophet angry is Kufr or Shirk?

@fatemah3 that is the impression you gave by quoting that Ayah

@fatemah3 We expect everyone to treat each other professionally and with respect here. If you don't behave yourself, you may end up suspended from chat.

that is the impression "you think" I gave by quoting that Ayah.

no not what I think, from the context of your question it was almost obvious that something like this was being said:

قل أطيعوا الله والرسول فإ ن أغضبتموه فقد عصيتموه وتوليتم عن طاعته ألا إن الله لا يحب الكافرين
now "what I thought" was it was a twisted interpretation

accusing others of misinterpreting of Quran is professional?

3:38 PM
@fatemah3 most people do not interpret the Quran themselves, they rely on books

I did not use the second part of Ayah. I put my stress on the first part of it regardless the second part. I didn't even need to talk about the second part in my question caz it was of no use to me.

and by the way, I am not accusing you of anything, I am accusing the interpretation you brought in the question (whether you got it from your self or not doesn't matter), I am accusing it of twistedness or mistake

you can simply delete the second part if you cannot get along well with it.

@fatemah3 alright, but why this Ayah? What do you see in it?
@fatemah3 we don't delete things on here using that as a reason :)

good luck!

i need to make a new meta post for question deletion.
promoted by kaveh's; the "vote for answers you agree with" model is only so useful since comments are terrible for in-depth discussion.
compared to discussing each delete-reason separately, with the summary ending up in kaveh's thread (as was done for the plagiarism one)
still catching up with my three weeks off.
