@BleedingFingers, I personally advocate the view of Shiite thesophists of Sadraian Transcendent Theosophy (one that is also backed up by shiite hadths) that even the bodies of the Ahl al-Bayt was purified from impurities. That means that their body didn't even produce excrement and urine and not menstruation in case of Lady Fatima Zahra. However there are some shiites that do not accept this and consider that to be from the kind of exaggeration that the Qulat used to make about Ahl al-Bayt.
but based on our philosophical principles and also some traditions that point to this belief, bodily purity of the Ahl al-Bayt does not seem far fetched or impossible.
however I have not personally researched the tradition that underline this belief. but my trusted theosophist scholars support this view.
but with all that said, the doctrine doesn't indicate that their bodies are free from all limitations. Bodies are material and every material entity is subject to many limitations which explains the reason why the Prophet and his Pure Ahl al-Bayt became subject to disease and illness like other human beings, and also why Prophet body could be put under spell.
