@goldPseudo Happens/happened to me too.

@El'endiaStarman :)

no clue how many of the new things i'm learning are things i just never noticed, or actual new features that Team decided to silently sneak in.

@goldPseudo Well, there is at least one feature that they added in the past few days. I rather like it, actually.

@Ali Here you go: http://islamqa.info/ar/ref/149729
btw can you read Arabic ?

Ali
ya i can
but i am not at all fluent though
Can you please extract arabic hadith and put in that question
@Suhaib

@Ali Ok
@Ali
The first line is the hadtih in Arabic
the 2nd line is the hadith which can be found in the book "Musnad" by Imam Ahmed
the 3rd line, the hadith have been regarded as "Sahih" by Al albani in the book

@Ali I wish I can help you, But I don't know much about Judaism. and it seems your posts looks fine.

Ali
I just want you to paraphrase and sumarize the post merging all redundant arguments and anachronistic progression of the post
Shin-Lamedh-Mem is the triconsonantal root of many Semitic words, and many of those words are used as names. The root itself translates as "whole, safe, intact". * Š-L-M * S-L-M * Š-L-M * Salam "Peace" Arabic ' (), Maltese Sliem, Hebrew Shalom (), Ge'ez sälam (ሰላም), Syriac šlama (pronounced Shlama, or Shlomo in the Western Syriac dialect) () are cognate Semitic terms for "peace", deriving from a Proto-Semitic '. The word salām is used in a variety of expressions and contexts in Arabic and Islamic speech and writing. "Al-Salam" is one of the 99 names of God in Islam, and also a mal...

Ali
?

it doesn't look like a question
I am afraid somone would flag it as "not a real question"

Ali
my main question is : does building a shrine equal to building an Idol?
coz prophet pbuh used the term "Idol"
this is a very different question and adds another perspective to this issue

oh I see

Ali
what i am arguing is that the act of building a shrine itself is like building an idol
So in effect converting the grave into a pagan temple
So even those who just visit the shrine with devotion towards the saint would become idol worshippers

8:05 AM
I think if you include the quesiton agains at the end that would clear things up. What do you think ?
like rewrite the question again but at the end

Ali
you are always welcome to edit it

ok to understand your question, You are asking: Is buildng a shrine = building pagan idol ?

Ali
ya
even the kafirs view it to be an idol its so obvious

What about the hadtih ?
Prophet (pbuh) said : Do not make my grave an idol

Ali
Infact if you do dawah to hindus in India , they ask this question that even muslims are worshippig shrines

8:10 AM
ohhhh

Ali
i wanted to verify in arabic , does the prophet pbuh use the word "idol"

oh ok
What about the qoute from Ibn Rushid ?
when he mentioned Malik
it seems that malik has already given us the answer
oh I see
So what do you think would be the typical answer ?

are u indian\paki?

no, Arab

around the world

Q: Can the Quran be verified as Truth by science?

The Truth SeakerMuslim believe that Quran is the whole truth but I think there might be no truth in the Quran at all. A truth is something that can be verified by Science as we know today or something that can be verified by a second source. Quran can literally say anything without worrying if it can be true or ...

@TheTruthSeaker Wa Alaikum

I want to know if any event in the Quran can be verified as truth because I have seen a lot of arctics that says miracles of Quran, scientific miracles, stories told in the Quran as miracles

@TheTruthSeaker You ask a more specific question, like "can this miracle/thing from the Quran be verified by science?

to me this it is simply misconception that all this is truth (and even miracles). Because truth must be logical, it must ver verifiable from the world as we know it. But anything that is in Quran is not verifiable. and I am sorry so that that is not a good candidate to be considered as truth.
I look at all the miracles and found that basically all of them are flawed
so my question is really is there any truth in the holy Quran

@TheTruthSeaker everything everything? If you believe that, then what is the point of asking a question?

2:41 PM
I am willing to accept Islam as religion even if there is a single truth
because if there is none, then there is no point in being a Muslim
why believe in Islam then?

Is it really that Islam is false, or is it the science that is used to verify it? remember when they said man cannot fly

@AlUmmatمجاهد I need something to hang in there
No it will be Islam that will be false unless someone prove science is wrong
I know science is not perfect but it it is 80% perfect at least

@TheTruthSeaker and what is being used to verify Islam? the last 20%? or the desires of man?

Not the desire of a man.
Look, now speaking with you, I have another question in mind

@TheTruthSeaker man desires to verify something His own way, don't you think that is desire?
I am not saying this is bad
but do you think you can diagnose a sick person if you weren't a doctor?

2:46 PM
Not at all. The purpose of a question is, you want to know something, that you dont know.
You can treat that as opportunity for you to prove your point. For me it is opportunity to address my concern
like if say, i say, is the Quran says earth is flat, You come up with a solid evidence that Quran says earth is round. You win. You make your point. You have a good chance that you will win me over. But if you say well you are trying to make point, then you can never address that question
and probably you know in your heart, it cannot be answered satisfactorily

@TheTruthSeaker no it can be answered satisfactorily
I just not knowledgeable enough to give one

well if you dont know then who has? That is my question. You are not the only user on the site
comming to my question, I know it is harsh to challenge the whole book as a complete lie, no doubt about that
but well if you constantly say, "Quran is the truth" then you should face such question. I have to right to ask, where is the truth.

your question is fine, Islam actually encourages asking when in doubt, but have you thought of asking a scholar?

@AlUmmatمجاهد I believe this is the best site to use for such question because of uptown/vote system. Nothing can beat it.
if an answer makes sense and wins you over, you automatically click upvote, it is that easy

@TheTruthSeaker well, your questions seems to be getting down-voted, and soon might get some close votes

2:52 PM
No offense, but a lot of answer to my question have no upvotes, that talks about the quality of the answers.
I know but these are valid questions.

I have edited the question as far as I can, I do not wish to edit it much futher for I might change it

Anything question that can help you become a better Muslim, is a good question.

@TheTruthSeaker we need more knowledgeable people on here

@AlUmmatمجاهد I can guarantee you no scholar will come here to spread the word of Islam here beause of up/down vote system.
I personally sent invitation to may scholars that I could find, no one has guts to come here and answer the question.
because remember we are very sensitive ppl, if a scholar answers a question and it does not gets accpted as answer, he will easily get offended. We dont have that mind approach yet.

yes, the scholar must be educated about how this system works, well Insha'Allah scholars come here and help rise the quality. I have to go now
Salam Alaikum

2:56 PM
Thanks!
walaikum salam

@TheTruthSeaker There is much, in religion as well as science, that is not verifiable. If you accept as Truth only that which you observe, you might as well be worshipping your own eyes, and your own ears.

I agree with most of science. But there are things that I dont understand and I dont think science can explain well such as static electricity, after life, ghosts etc

"This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah // Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them"

3:12 PM
but science can explain the universe for the most part, Quran never went into detail about quantum physics or Bosons. It talked about things that ppl thought they knew at the time like sky etc but we didn't really. Science can at least prove those atleast if it was right or wrong

the Qur'an is not a book of science. it's a book of guidance.

if you want to come that, I can find flaws there too. It did not provide a single guidance.
but I dont want to come to that now, I just want to find any truth in the Quran.

just because you did not receive guidance does not mean the Qur'an did not provide it.

Does the Quran say, how to offer prayer?

belief in al-ghaib is not just about believing in miracles, or angels, or anything like that. fundamentally, it's an acceptance that you can't know everything.
@TheTruthSeaker does it need to? do you think God can't hear you however you pray?

3:16 PM
Well exactly and such believe can be wrong.
if you put it to test :)
why do shia and sunni pray in different ways

does it matter?

if it is not important how to pray, then why impose it the prayer then, what is the ritual for

prayer is for humility.

can i invent a totally new ritual but still pray to Allah, is that still considered prayer? I dont think so

it's a part of submitting yourself to a higher authority.

3:18 PM
Allah was conept before Arabs, I mean we know every called the God who is higher in the skies as Allah
Know it in Islamic fashion, well may be good enough for some people but then that Allah made a lot of conflicts in his own book if we think he wrote it himself
if he is not so great to answer who are we, where we came from so how can we trust him, where we will go, heaven or earth
how I can trust that god who says the mountains fill fly on day of resurrection, when he is obviosly wrong saying that I created skies on top of each other in 7 layers
Again I want to stick to my question here to find the truth

i don't think they're particularly averse to "muslim" questions over there, as long as it's fundamentally on-topic.

Ali
hi @El'endiaStarman
how are you doing?
Ofcourse it is ontopic
even the agreed
but after i probed harder it was closed as "NOT A REAL QUESTION?

it was NaRQ'd because nobody could figure out what you were asking.

Ali
6:20 PM
INTERESTINGLY i got the answers in chat!
they knew the answer

editing a question to change it's fundamental meaning is bad form, since people would be answering what you write, not what you (thought you) meant.
closing is exactly the right thing to do in that case, as it lets you focus the question without cluttering the page with wrong answers.

Ali
Ya agreed and i had clearly given the constraints
1)non geographic 2)non racial\non genelaogic name

i don't have account over there, so i can't see how many (if any) reopen votes it's accumulated since the latest edit.
but as written, it's still a bit unfocussed; it seems to be asking three separate things.

Ali
no i had made that change long back
when it was open
the change was made after the first answer itself
Update(On why it is not a duplicate question):

What Did Moshe (Moses) and his followers call themselves in the torah?
Where in the Torah can we find variants of the word "Mushalom" in context of faithful believers of God?
Does the concept of perfect followers (Mushalam) or complete submission (Shalem) occur in Tanach?
three separate questions. which one do you actually want answered?

Ali
6:28 PM
Moeshelim, mushalem, Mushalim
ooops

pick a question, then rework the entire post to ask that question. that's how the stack exchange model thrives; focussed questions get focussed answers.

Ali
Actually the third one is the broad level research question and the others are sub questions of that
the questions were gently probed to get them in the right track of thinking

so you're basically just asking, can the hebrew sh-l-m be similarly interpreted as the arabic s-l-m is in the word "Islam"/"Muslim", and if so, where?

Ali
Ya but not just that, also similar concept\idea of submission of your will to ALLAH alone
@El'endiaStarman do you know armaic
?

@Ali None at all. I might learn it some day.

bah. i'll just create a J.SE account and resubmit the edit.
@Ali there. check now.

Ali
6:57 PM
i got it now
approved it
but it seems to be a different question

that's why it was originally closed NaRQ; what you were asking was not what the original question looked like.
and your subsequent edits were just changing it further from the original post.

Ali
SO SHOULD it not be new question?
0
Q: Does the concept of perfect followers (Mushalam) or complete submission (Shalem) occur in Tanach?

AliDoes Torah and Tanach teach complete submission to its commandment from God or the will of God and what does it call such a submission?

might make more sense to post as a new question (i don't know how J.SE stands on this situation)

Ali
i had already asked above?

which course of action is better really depends on the J.SE community, all i did was turn your question into something clear and answerable (what you do with it is up to you :) )
you can edit it further to bring it closer to line to the original one.
if you've already expanded it into its own question, the "Update" text can probably be removed and the title changed to something closer to the first one. the core of the body would still work.

Ali

jazaklah khair

not sure if the question (as i edited it) is fundamentally on-topic (again: don't know much about the J.SE community). "language used in Jewish life and learning" seems to a fairly vague criteria.

Ali
You question is well formulated and can be asked even on Christianity.SE, may i do so?
or BH

help yourself. it's now yours to do with as you please.

Ali
And do you have an answer in Christianity.SE?

i think it would fit better on BH.SE than on C.SE, personally.

Ali
7:19 PM
Ok s i would ask inshallah

since it's more a "textual interpretation" thing than a "doctrine" thing.
(if @El'endiaStarman is here, he could probably tell you exactly how on-topic it is (or isn't))

Ali
Well it can be more related to doctrine too
Sure!@

@El'endiaStarman thanks
@El'endiaStarman did you understand the questions
?

for BH, it might be useful to extend the scope of the question to Aramaic (not sure if aramaic really fits in there though, since the canonical gospels are written in Greek)
(well, they have 8 questions tagged aramaic, so it'll probably fly)

@goldPseudo Aye, that's a bit of the problem. They only deal with Hebrew and Greek as they're used in the Bible.
@goldPseudo Then again, there are bits of Aramaic, and in fact, that was probably the main language Jesus spoke.

5 hours ago, by The Truth Seaker
why do shia and sunni pray in different ways
@TheTruthSeaker, that's a very fundamental question, I guess, if it is important how to pray (the reason is all that is written in the Fiqh book about the details) then what's the point about people of different Sects praying this much differently?
I encourage you to ask this question on the site although I'm not sure you will be welcomed ;)

2 hours later…
10:00 PM
@owar Sunni and Shia islam has different fiqh right, so the procedures in both fiqh will be different. My point was, Quran never addressed the prayer so it is likely everyone will have slightly different way of worshiping. It is not our fault, it is the lack of guidance in Islam itself.

@TheTruthSeaker the Quran said to follow the prophet, Allah ordered us to take whatever the Prophet ordered and leave of everything he told us to leave off. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon HIm) taught us how to make the salat, so does that mean that Islam has lack of guidance?
@TheTruthSeaker also, the Quran is not an encyclopedia, if Allah were to address every single rule, and explain into detail, and give solutions to every single problem that might arise problems
@TheTruthSeaker then do you think that the Quran will be easy to read? and also understand?

@TheTruthSeaker have you read this answer?
Allah shows the way, but it is not like a newspaper that you can read it like a romance book, it needs deep thinking, digging into verses, comparing them, having all of the verses in mind on the desktop, and last, to have a clean Heart as it is the key to the encrypted meanings in the hidden layers of Qur'aan, @TheTruthSeaker
@AlUmmatمجاهد, Salam

10:20 PM
howdy owari

I have made a wrong conservation mistakenly but I cannot delete it, what should I do
@TheTruthSeaker Salam

salam
what is infallible in shia Islam
what is your definition
I read your answer btw

Being able but never committing even a single sin

ok
but can an infallible person be deceived?

it has even different layers
there is a Hadeeth that says: المؤمن ینظر بنور الله
I am not sure about all the infallibles, but the 14 infallibles were never decieved
But they are the gates about which people would be examined
So there are many examples in the history of their lived that they treated like they have not understood the trick so that the person can do that

10:23 PM
That's would I would assume. Infallible should not be able to be decived or do a wrong dugement.

For example when Imam Kazim was to be poisoned, the poison that eventually martyred him, he ate 3 and said this much is enough

so how can you marry a person who you know will be source of problem

Never doing a sin, doing a mistake depends on the level of their عصمت

we can talk about that but lets come to my question first
why you people follow the prophet whenyou know he didn't even know who to marry, who is right for him and Islam

If Allah wants him to marry he will obey. Imam Hussain came to Karbala and he had اسم الله الأعظم, very more complete form of it that عاصف بن برخیا had, he could kill all of his enemies, but he said if I do such then how would these people be examined?
Allah can guide all, but he won't, why?
For us to be able to choose
to be examined

10:26 PM
So Allah made the mistake

NO! Why do you think that?

what is the defintion of mistake

to know ourselves better, to decide to improve, to put effort in that

i marry a beautiful blond women, next night she kills me. Do you think i made a mistake?
ok answer this

mistake is doing wrong without being arrogant, without being intented to do what is wrong while we know it is wrong

10:28 PM
how can you follow a prophet if he does not know if the food has poison or not

If you knew she is going to kill you no, but if you don't yes.
Did you read the link I gave within that answer?
His companion died, Imam Ali told him not to eat before the holy prophet but he did and was killed, but then the holy prophet and some of his companions came to the meal, worship Allah and eat from it and none were injured

right i would marry that girl because to me she is a good attractive girl, turns out she only want my money. So I made a mistake right, not knowing what her intentions are. This is just an example where I am saying I am fallible because I fell for a beautiful woman

All my point is that they knew but sometimes were choosing to let people do what they are up to

The linked answer is too long and mostly in arabic. I dont know arabic
This is a GRAVE mistake.

I gave you an abstract above

10:31 PM
they had no idea, I can tell you that. If they knew they would have saved their companion who ate and die.

They ate from it without being poisoned, then the woman saw that some days later and she became a Muslim

The would have never attended such an invitation. It is not prophetic to get to Jews women invitation and eat poison.
That woman was killed my friend

the one who died died because he started before the holy prophet not being respectful to him, so he was not saved from that poison
she expressed being a Muslim
the man believed that claim and started eating

Well I think you probably will never know who is infallible

:)

10:33 PM
I have seen some geneious people even they are fallable. Everyone is fallable. The prophet was fallabe too.

What's paradoxical in my answer?

Anyways comming to your next answer

the verse that you mentioned talks about fingers (not one finger).
It talks about order
it does not mean finger prints
so they are talking about totally different things

maybe, it may mean both and even more

but it is about all fingers and in perfect order, it does not mean fingerprints

10:36 PM
where did you understand order from?

check the complete translation

I am reading its Arabic!

Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! - shakir
Yusuf Ali
Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.
well bro I have to read the translation, but well you might help me if you know arabic
since you are in arabic, answer my question
1. Does it talk about finger or fingers?

@owari Wa Alaikum salam

fingers
@AlUmmatمجاهد welcome to your place!

10:39 PM
@owari where is it?

at your seat maybe? or in this chat room at the top ...

2. what does this part mean أن نسوي بنانه
do your own translation btw so I know what it is

hard but let me think to find the right word

We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.
put together (mean combined something)
order (in perfect order)

@owari sorry i do not understand what you mean

10:42 PM
very finger tips (ver top portion of fingers)
to mean it cannot be translated as meaning fingerprints

giving it an order is good, making it perfect is also good, but indeed سوی comes from تساوی which means equality
@AlUmmatمجاهد sorry, my fault. a conservation like this main chat room, indeed a chat room with Ali. let me bring in the link

but this discription is about finger tips (of all fingers). I know you can sway it toward fingerprints but it was not clearly mentioned that fingerprints were meant.

I think you guys have this huge problem

@TheTruthSeaker Qurans wording is such that it can encrypt lots of data behind it, not only a single data

10:45 PM
Can I blame God for that?
Can we say God is not a clear speaker ... lol
:)

for example you can think why in Sura Al-Masad Allah says Abu-Lahab not the other names or reputation of him, Allah is not going to devote a whole Surah to one person only so calling him such
@TheTruthSeaker No, Quran is send to you with its describer!
to us they are Ahlul Bayt, to you I don't know

I have not problem with that.

@TheTruthSeaker No he is but a 500 page book is to guide the humanity to the Resurrection day, it is highly encrypted

My problem is Shia Islam basically put prophet Muhammad at fault but they dont blame him

What fault, we never put him in fault

10:48 PM
that's what I am saying
you dont blame him but your belief do
it is like he is to be blamed but since he is the prophet, he is perfect, he did nothing wrong

do you recall any example?

Of course, Marriage to Aisha (RA)

No, we even talk about Allah but all the questions find reasonable answers

AFAIK Aisah (RA) and Ali (RA) didn't go well

We do not put him in fault for that! We understand that as we have in a Dua something like this

10:50 PM
to say the least, why would prophet marry such a girl that would cause conflicts in Islam. Couldn't he foresee it? Could he judge who was best for him? Was there shortage of girls

You are those gates about whom people are examined
you know we believe the salvation is through them

And also being a good friend of Abu Bakr
because I know some shia Muslims are anti Abu bakr
how could the prophet make such poor decision
if he can't make a the right friend, how can he lead you to salvation?

Reasons for that is clear, because Dunya is not a place for eventual Justice, that's put aside for the Day. Here people are given some freedoms to choose between good and bad, so they must be given the opportunity for that as well. This is very reasonable, what's your problem with that?
Even Allah is Sattar (the covering)

To me it is important to follow someone who has sound judgement

And the holy prophet follows his God
what do you mean?
Even in Dunya?

10:55 PM
Of course, that is how prophet is superior than us because he has guidance from Allah

Dunya has not the capacity for that

owar be back later

Yes, he knows what we don't, but he should act according to the appearance, knowledge of the hidden is not source of action, otherwise things would have been out from the ways prescribed to be
ok, bye for now
