@bmike @patrix At the time of writing, this proposal to change the Ask Different site description on the Stack Exchange list of sites has 21 supporters (16 for proposal 3, 5 for proposal 2). At what point would we reach a consensus for change?
@bmike & @patrix - re the 'zero effort' thread - apple.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/3030/… I feel we're getting close to the potential new versions. Do we have any time scale? Have you guys been discussing it behind closed doors? It's just at the moment we have neither a customer support nor zero effort close reason.

btw, I don't want to mark either of those answers as 'accepted', as it feels more of a joint effort really.
@Monomeeth @Tetsujin There are no closed door discussions on those topics :-) But some real life stuff requiring more attention than I was expecting.
As for the site description: if "somebody" could figure out how to bring this to the attention of somebody who has the authority to change it, please do. Otherwise I'll dig into that Tuesday evening
@patrix - kk, I understand - & btw, I didn't mean in any 'cloak & dagger' kind of way, just from some of the things I work as mod on, sometimes it's easier to get all your ducks in a row & then present a unified face to the user-base. 62 versions of the new wording could be just one of those things it's simpler to talk through over a 'virtual cup of coffee' than a QA site ;-)
@Tetsujin The fact that we need to reactive the mod chatroom from time to time because the system automatically freezes it due to inactivity is a good indicator on the amount of moderation (and intra-mod discussion) required currently :-)
@patrix Haha, I'll take that as a good sign of how smoothly things are running for the site! :) You guys do a great job, and I think the community generally does a good job of sharing the responsibilities of moderation. In fact, the whole Stack Exchange model is fantastic!
