No idea. I don't know that much about these things as I've only used vga in the past...
Wikipedia just told me that the master key for HDCP was cracked and confirmed by Intel.
Wikipedia also just told me that HDCP is part of the HDMI specification. So I guess the answer is yes.
(I love referring to wikipedia.)
Mmmmh...
The HDCP standard included HDMI since revision 1.1.
HDMI has seen several revisions as well (1.4a is the current one).
When reading the German article, it seems like they say that HDCP is supported in HDMI adapters of revision 1.2 or higher. But it's not quite clear from the article.
Aaaaaaaargh. THIS IS SO CONFUSING!!!!

It reminds me of when I purchased that Samsung HDTV yesterday. DVB T/C, CI+, HDMI, DVI, VGA, Video via USB (but what video/audio formats ?!?!),....
If anybody is confused by the words written with my keyboard, this is my problem: If HDCP support is part of the HDMI revision, I need to know which one. Most adapters that I've seen don't specifically mention HDCP support, but they do mention what HDMI revision they support.
Last day to get a free upgrade to Parallels 8 if you bought 7 after June 25th (or, if like me you got 7 in the bundle deal with screenflow but didn't actually apply for the key until the 27th ;) )
@gentmatt They are not analogous, you can have a HDMI device that doesn't support HDCP, it's just uncommon.
@gentmatt Seems pretty nicely priced too, a tad over £20 here. Sadly fulfilled but not sold by Amazon, so would be a pain to return. (I never user amazon market place sellers unless I really have no choice)
@jrg I'm fine with what twitter is doing. I understand it, but I absolutely hate the way they phrased the documentation. It's confusing and misleading, as Marco has already pointed out. Typical California style…
And leave it open to any extreme of interpretation…
Sigh… Californians…
And yah, have an API that does something useful or don't have it at all. Again, California style. Half deprecate it, but don't really because you don't want to offend or hurt people...
@stuffe That does not really contradict what I was thinking though. It could merely mean that the HDMI device is an old revision that did not yet define HDCP support.
@JasonSalaz rstatus has a special place in my heart, it's the only open source project i've used where I've met the original developer in-person. Not to mention it fits right into my worldview of standards-based stuff.
@bmike I don't audio-edit much, when I have? GarageBand. I don't think that it's due to any failing of Fission, just that my brain seems to be wired for GarageBand.
I love Fission, and could probably make a point of putting it in my work flow.
It's certainly SO MUCH FASTER than GarageBand >_>
admittedly, the other reason I use GarageBand is the editing I've been doing lately involved MP4 chaptering.
