@SlySven I very much doubt any supplies are 55-0-55. 240V (actually 230V now) are 240V phase to neutral, 415V phase to phase. 110 would be 155 phase to phase. No power system would be based on single phase.
@goldilocks 240V is Low Voltage. High Voltage is more than 1000V AC or 1500V DC.

@goldilocks nice!

OOPS. 110 would be 190 phase to phase. Getting my √2 confused with my √3

@Milliways Yikes...
Alternating current (AC), is an electric current in which the flow of electric charge periodically reverses direction, whereas in direct current (DC, also dc), the flow of electric charge is only in one direction. AC is the form in which electric power is delivered to businesses and residences, and it is the form of electric power that consumers typically use when they plug kitchen appliances, televisions and electric lamps into a wall socket. A common example of DC power is a battery cell in a flashlight. The abbreviations AC and DC are often used to mean simply alternating and direct, as when...
Finally a purpose for the sin button on my calculator ;)
I think it is sqrt(2) * 110 = 156 V though, you were right the first time, my quick take away from that is it is always about the root mean square. Although presuming that's about the number of phases I guess it depends where you want to look at it; it sounds to me like 3 phase is normal for the grid but household power is still single phase: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-phase_electric_power#Principle But all of this is news to me anyway ;)

Looks like Epiphany's out/Chromium's in, there are some shiny desktops, on/off switches for Bluetooth and WiFi, and there's a splash screen. Aside from that, business as usual I think.
Only noticed this because someone was having trouble with an installation tutorial 10 minutes ago and used some exceedingly sparse language to try and describe the issue. If the instructions are wrong I expect there'll be more of those along shortly.

@goobering Cheers. Well that little vanity project should make life easier for everyone...not. I imagine it comes with the Foundation's usual laissez faire attitude toward documentation ("Blog post! And done! On to something else..."), so now rather than having to look up "LXDE" people can just remain up a creek without a paddle.
All apologies for being curmudgeonly D:
Actually I do see a "Help" icon in one of the screenshots so I've created a stock image for multi-purpose use:

Okay big mouth bear with displaced anger issues felt bad and created a tag:
If anyone ever learns of any doc links for that, please add them...
@goobering I wonder how the LXDE gang feel after revamping their website a few weeks ago with a big pic of a Pi and baseball cap, ouch: lxde.org (BTW I closed that question, then the OP cleaned it up and it was reopened which is why your comment and my comment were deleted)
I'm going with Mr. Simon Long saying if they had lived up to the standards of Mr. Steve Jobs ("better typography!") this split would have never had to happen. Sadly OSX for the Pi seems a bit behind schedule ;)
In all seriousness: Ingrateful jerk probably appropriate.
