Larry MyerscoughI had similar problems using mido on Ubuntu. Just fixing the symbolic link 'libportmidi.so' ws not sufficient. The fact that the poster implicitly refers to another answer doesn't make it a comment on that answer. He's in fact suggested an answer of his own -- which could be done in a comment, but it is probably better as an answer. I'm not saying it's correct (I don't know), but it is still an answer.
