I'm trying to sign into the Xbox Live website and I can't do it using my account name. I need an e-mail address. I don't remember ever giving them an e-mail address in the first place.

What kind of stupid website doesn't let you log in using your account name?
@StrixVaria Yeah, my friend made an account with my name before I had an xbox, and then couldn't remember his login information, so I couldn't get the name transferred to my current account. =[
@FallenAngelEyes I got locked out of my hotmail account almost 10 years ago because parental controls kicked in, owned by an account that was deleted due to inactivity.
I am trying to find all the Dancers in Castelia City so I can battle them all and they can form some sort of dance team or something.
I have spoken to and defeated the one by the fountain in the Central Plaza, but other than that, I can't find any Dancers.
Where are they hiding?
@Wipqozn I've seen RTS being played on a console. It looked like you just couldn't react fast enough to do anything. Either you steamrolled the opponent because the AI was on easy mode or lost because the controls were too stupid.
Over on the nominations page, one of the nominations has a large comment discussion about this. Some of us have been hoping that the person who originally brought up the concern would bring the discussion to meta, but it doesn't look like that's going to be happening, and it seems worth discussin...
With my new job I haven't really been spending a lot of time on the site other than popping in to fix the odd typo here and there, so I didn't really read that meta post.
I don't care if you just call them "Tyrant Tags", just something other than meta tags when they aren't! It mixes things up and it makes people make stupid arguments without knowing what they're talking about.
@Wipqozn We don't have a big problem of meta tags. That's... kinda why I keep getting infuriated when people keep saying we have a problem with meta tags.
On Stack Overflow, homework is a meta tag. It's not telling you anything about what the problem in the question is - it's giving you background info (meta info, you might say) about the question and the asker.
@Wipqozn you can use a sentence such as "this is an X question about Y". Any tag that belongs to X is a meta-tag. So for example "this is a troubleshooting question about..." "or this is a newbie question about..."
They don't come up often, but given that we've recently talked about it on meta, I have been squishing them on the front page ... but I thought I should drop in here to check given the example I linked above. I don't like rolling back mod edits without checking first ...

@DaveDuPlantis I stand by achievements being a bit of a different beast, along the same lines that we have a tag like steam. It's actually independent of the game to an extent and it is something of a universal point, for the purposes that we use it.
@Rapida you know, basically the only reason I dislike dota-like games is because I find the community to be extremely hostile towards newbies. Maybe I should try to play a few games in a more friendly environment
@DaveDuPlantis Yes, it can, but you can also have questions about Steam. We also have questions about achievements outside of games, and achievements also makes a good division within a game. Compare Stack Overflow's [string].
@Oak The more, the merrier. We've got actually a pretty fair crowd of new gamers here on Gaming, so you wouldn't have to be so worried about playing with a bunch of super-pros.
@Oak It is extremely hostile sadly. I prefer to get a huge friends list and only play with them. On that note, see earlier advice about joining us sometime.
@DaveDuPlantis His issue is more for tags that just seem worthless outside of being linked to a game, which I am willing to concede, but the nature of achievements actually makes it not the case (in the same way that platform tags don't fall under that)
@DaveD Actually, let's remove that parenthetical - a platform tag we allow because it can give important context to a game question, but you can also ask questions about the platform itself. It's the same with achievements - you can give important context to a game question, but you can also ask questions about achievements outside of specific games

@Oak I think it is because you are forced into a game that will last anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes with people of varying skill. You can't control how good or bad they play or how much they troll you. Some people lash out blaming others in this situation (even when they are at fault), some people troll to show they don't care/are in control, and some people just grin and bear it.
@GraceNote, that seems reasonable. Is there similar reasoning for dlc? If so, then I understand both of those tags and can modify my rampage accordingly.
@Rapida I used to play other team-based multiplayer games - such as TF2 and counter-strike - and those were far less hostile. Maybe dota-like games need more communication to start with...
The basic parallel being, there are "casual professional" people who become so engrossed in the meta and in the high level play that they can't tolerate anyone who isn't up to their speed - they'll look down on opponents and be thoroughly peeved by what they perceive as incompetent allies.
@Rapida I don't play online on consoles largely for this reason. (Of course, I don't play many things that have competitive multiplayer period so I may be biased)
Oh, but be warned, if you two don't already have it, you need to download a downloader to get the installer before you can start setting up and then patching the game.
Once you're done downloading the downloader so you can download the installer that you use to download the other components, the account creation is a breeze.
(For the curious, it's a good game if you liked the older ones, but the localization is really bad and it takes FOREVER to get anywhere, I didn't have time to keep up with it. Very relaxing, though.)
