taking apart this parts car just makes me want to take apart my good car
which i dont want to do because im trying to make a daily driver not a daily project lol

Which car are you pulling apart?
I missed that part of some conversation, I'm sure :o)

ah, i bought a parts car a couple weekends ago to get the hard to find parts for my car
has a working instrument cluster, good transmission pan
TBH i bought it only for those two parts :D haha

Gotcha ... hopefully it has a good tranny pan, eh?

no leaks in the driveway, oil on the stick. heres to hoping!

Considering the pain you were going through on the pan, it's probably worth it for that alone.

12:49 AM
yeah, plus ive got a bunch of extra parts i can get reconditioned without having my car down. that really is great
so im taking the engine/trans, a couple trim pieces, the electronics and probably crushing the rest

One of those deals, I guess.

id love to save the chassis to mock up a swap on though ~:P

Let me guess ... if you only had space?

i think thats gotta be top 3 problems for gearheads

All three ... in one?
:D

1:00 AM
haha yeah. well, my other problem is the massive amount of used oil from these V8 engines lol
im gonna go look through some questions
see ya

1:47 AM
What kind of car?

Hello. Quick question. The mechanism on each wheel that slow the vehicle down, I would spell as 'Brakes'. In the US, are they spelled 'Breaks'? I have noticed a lot of people spelling it that way.

Nope.
Brake for sure.
See also: There, Their, They're... People just can't spell anymore.
@HandyHowie, Above in case you walked away...

Thanks, it did seem odd.

Hi @ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2, slightly O/T but where are you from? I don't often see people write 'Ayup' online! :)

If I recall correctly he's from PA
Aaaand, I'm wrong. Profile says Stafford, Virginia

@JPhi1618 why do you say swapping out EFI would be complex?
This video is great example of how easy it can be to go back to carburetion

3:20 PM
Because there's nothing to drive the distributor.
Where would it mechanically connect? That whole system would have to be created.
Also, a carb is very complex if you need to make one, but at the very least you need to create a new intake manifold.
But maybe there are some tricks that I don't know about.
I'll pull up that vid on my phone.
@Zaid Any idea of a time in the video where they attach the distributor?

I thought he said in the question that there is a huge assortment of junk cars that could be utilized

3:59 PM
@Sam - I'm originally from Montana, but that's not a MT thing ... just me being weird.
@Zaid One of my favorite episodes.
@DavidWinslow - That's awesome it's CARB compliant!

YEAH CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?
i dont know if its just the coffee but im feeling something in my chest right now
2
and my wallet ; D

@DavidWinslow - SOMEONE CALL 911!!

4:18 PM
holy moly. if these guys can get an ls4/4t65e into a fiero i can get one in my cadillac

@DavidWinslow - The stupidity of CARB never ceases to astound me, though. Why should it be so hard for MSD to certify their fuel injection for 87-older vehicles. Then you look at what was done and the exemption is only good on Chevrolet vehicles (I'm assuming this doesn't include like platforms from Pontiac/Olds/Buick) which have a V8 engine ... Why? ... complete stupidity.

CARB is a mysterious self-satisfying bureaucracy whose only insidious goal is to remove all vehicles older than 7 years from california roads!

@DavidWinslow - True that.

my question is why anyone would have a problem with putting better engine management on an older engine
watch out for those improved emissions!

@DavidWinslow - I've seen a few Fieros with LSx engines in them.
@DavidWinslow - EXACTLY!

4:21 PM
they also put cadillac engines (from roughly the same platform as my car)
i often find myself looking at fiero forums for advice
we share the transaxle

Sorry, just stopping by to say hello. No time to hang out. I hope all is well with you and your <cough> project <cough>
:o)

heh see ya

Later Bro.

IMO, one of the scariest stages in WRC.

9:07 PM
@DucatiKiller didn't watch all of it but the sheer drops are disconcerting... One slip of the steering wheel is all it takes...

9:30 PM
Anybody here watch Dinotrux?
It's dinosaurs made out of trucks, cranes, etc. Perfect mash-up.
Anyway if you have questions I've seen almost all of S01 :)

9:51 PM
yes, is it possible to fetischize any of the female dinotrux? Doesn't need to be overt but i need something to work with.

There is a "long neck" female dinosaur modeled after a crane. The cable and hook come out of her mouth, which is a little.... interesting.

mmm i wonder what her "load" capacity is

10:40 PM
oh man...
down for maintenance?
Odd, now back again..

11:34 PM
You there, @DucatiKiller?

11:50 PM
@DucatiKiller - No worries, I'll catch up with you later :o)
