What is a Differential ?
A differential’s job is to compensate for differences. Specifically
the differences in wheel speed when turning. For instance, imagine
taking a corner. Your inside wheel has a shorter distance to travel
than the outside wheel as you go around the corner. That means tha...
@ShobinP - You referred to Pres. Obama as being a great orator. That indicates someone who speaks well. A "talking head" is someone who speaks well, but really doesn't get much done behind the scenes.
Nobody wants to work with the other guy. Pres. Obama only wanted it his way ... as far as I could tell, wasn't willing to even try to step across the aisle ... so, in part, he got what he worked for.
@anonymous2 - If they can get together and make things work, it could be awesome. I don't know if that will happen though. A lot of them really don't like Trump, so they might fight him at every turn.
@anonymous2 - I've been wondering the same thing, lol.
Btw. I will abstain from most politics talk. I am not entitled to comment about American voters/politics, with only exception of that part that affects me.
I had to deal with a worn out cylinder recently and was suggested to bore the engine which seems perfectly normal.
I am assuming the compression ratios will change so what do mechanics do to compensate for the change in cylinder dimensions? do they use the old piston or get a new one?
What ar...
I didn't even realize it was your question ... I liked it though!
@ALL - I'm stopping in for a moment to ensure the chat room does not become overloaded with "stuff" about the US election. I know some of you will need to decompress and that's fine. Just ensure any "banter" does not become a personal attack on any candidates or each other. The Pitstop is, for the most part, a very civil chat, which I'm eternally grateful for ... Just trying to ensure we keep peace and harmony no matter which way you see things. Thanks!! :o)
My Honda City model 2016 has a push button keyless starter and while the engine is running, it flashes "no Key" when the passenger side door is open. Why?
I hope you have a great time! I've only been to SD a couple of times. I have a Sister-n-Law who lives there. My daughter is going out to visit with them just after Christmas.
@anonymous2 I've noticed you are going through and scrubbing offensive language from posts. That's great! But, I don't know if the word "heck" is worthy of being called a swear word. I'm specifically talking about this "heck".
@ZachMierzejewski Thanks for bringing it up! As we all know, "heck" is a sanitized form of "hell."
I don't think that "heck" is likely to offend anyone reading these posts, however, if it isn't necessary in the post; I just prefer to scrub it out, as you said it.
There are numerous posts where I have opted to leave it in just because it is said in a less "hot" way or in a way that I feel is extremely unlikely to offend.
To be honest, I am not personally offended by words like that, but I do appreciate posts which are lacking what I feel is unnecessary borderline stuff of that sort.
@anonymous2 - With your continuing effort, ensure you correct any grammar which may go with it which may be influenced by the removal of the words. I'm sure you're doing that, just thought I'd reiterate.
@anonymous2 Yeah, I've been thinking about it since I said that. You're 100% right that that "heck" did not add anything to the post. I probably would have removed it if I had been editing it too. Good work!
@anonymous2 I will be riding in a car for several hours tomorrow and for "fun", I'm taking "A Pocket Style Manual" 2016 MLA Update to study. I never know if I'm correcting someone's sentence structure or if they're using a fancier style than I know. I also will be studying commas intensely. I'm fun on car rides.
@anonymous2 & @ZachMierzejewski - Overall I don't have an issue with it. I think "heck" is very iffy, though. While it doesn't really add anything to the Q/A, it probably doesn't take anything away, either.
I'll submit to you the word "that" ... It is HUGELY overused in writing and conversation. Does removing it detract from the Q/A? Absolutely not. Does leaving it in create an issue? Nope.
My suggestion (and only a suggestion), I don't think I'd go looking for it in posts, but if you see it there while editing something else, then take care of it.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Good idea. There are lots of grieving people right now and I just want to give them space. I don't think it will be nearly as bad as some people think, but it doesn't help to say that while they are in shock.
@anonymous2 Thanks! I was just reminded today that it's a bit out of date. Not in the mood to fix anything though.
@JonEricson - Agreed, and I posed that question out earlier today to them about where is the line. They answered nicely and I don't think the line is being crossed. It's just not my cup of tea at the moment.
@anonymous2 - When you got it, flaunt it, I guess?
Have a good evening. I hope all of you US people can be over your Election Hangover by tomorrow. It'd be nice to get back to some kind of normalcy! Be well, my friends.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 They've gotten it right in the past three US elections (before that they didn't exist) and they also got it right in the past Canada election which everyone predicted opposite.
