I think it's the best move for him as it makes thing ssoooo much easier (no power bill; no water bill; no heating bill, etc). Anyway, so I doubt he'll be calling you at this time. Probably sometime after he gets down there on a permanent basis.

I have a 350 in the garage. I'm thinking of rebuilding it and putting it into the IROC-Z ... my son is buying the car (supposedly). He doesn't want the anemic 305 in there. I'm thinking we'll just do as cheap of a rebuild on the 350 as possible ... do the rings/bearings. It all depends on what shape it's in. It's out of a truck, so it should be a 4-bolt main. I guess I'll have to tear it apart and see :D

Mechanically nothing. Some previous owner decided to do a cat delete and put the most awful aftermarket exhaust on it though. I also replaced the yellowed stock headlights. It's a slushbox

If you can afford it, the Corsa exhaust is very nice sounding. I don't like obnoxious raspy exhaust like the SLP Loudmouth.

As you probably know, you don't have to do a lot to the car to get a lot more performance out of it. A tune goes a long way.

Anyway, I get the feeling like I'm going to be on the chain gang today ... I have to move a bunch of rocks in the yard (drain fodder for the ditch). Great fun. I'll TTYL.

I have moved (with my children's help) about 2/3 of the rocks. Going to work it further tomorrow.

@Movemorecommentslinktotop - So he did get in touch with you. He is looking at getting new housing on post which has a garage. Yes, he wants to work on the car in it, but he'll have to deal with it. I'm selling him my IROC-Z for $1200, which is what I have in it. The car is fairly complete, but does need a paint job.

I need to clean out some area in my garage so I can clean the work bench off ... that way I can get the 350 torn down and see what it needs. I need a bigger garage.

I really want to get 3-5 acres of land for my next house. My wife has told me, if she doesn't have to see it, it doesn't matter to her. So on the "back 40" will go something like a 20x40 shop for my "projects". When I have room, things are usually neat and tidy. I like to be able to work :D

I don't want too much crap, but would like to have room for up to about 6 cars and a lift.

Honestly to justify what I want in a garage means the only way I can justify it is to open a shop have someone else run it for me and obviously I can use the equipment and bays anytime I want.

I'm a little concerned by this answer. He's throwing his tech experience behind the answer but EGR is not something to be deleted just because of issues that might happen down the road.

Plus, not all cars are prone to EGR clogging. BMW designs in particular can be notoriously different from other makes.

I don't want to downvote him because he may be talking from experience (and I don't want to discourage him since it's his first answer and he's a new user)

What are your thoughts?
