@ShawnConn Thank you for your reply. I wonder why the .htaccess would cause errors when installing Drupal 8, but it would work when using Drupal normally. As I see, I am not the only one with that issue, since there is another person who opened an issue report on drupal.org.

What's the issue? The only time I've seen htaccess mess up Drupal is some when someone has spliced in some directives that doesn't work with their Apache environment.

I need help with updating my module which was written for drupal 7 to drupal 8.

I have two questions.

2. I require headers like content-type to be added to the responses. I was using drupal_add_http_header in Drupal 7 but it seems to be deprecated in 8. Is there any replacement. I did read about it on the drupal website talking about symfony object Response but I am unable to use that either.
