?
@edwardtorvalds ok

I am first time arch user
I have installed KDE
have problem on network connection
I am using dhcpcd but I have to start it every time I start computer

And the instructions on the arch wiki don't help

I dont know, because I dont know where to start from

I assume you searched, right? Did you read the wiki page on networking?

I was trying this method but it was not working: wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/…
I am stuck at here: wpa_cli

3:37 PM
just search for arch dhcp

ok
@terdon do you know about this error: Could not connect to wpa_supplicant - re-trying ? I get it after running wpa_cli
@terdon I went through the wiki page of dhcpcd but they dont show way to automate it, I have to run sudo dhcpcd every time I start computer to connect to wired connection. I tried creating dhcpd4@eth0.service too

Yes, I saw. You need to enable the service, I don't remember the command. Hang on.

sudo systemctl enable dhcpcd@eth0.service ?
I tired this

Yes, that should work. But why eth0? Is that the right name?

oh yes, in my case it is enp1s0

3:44 PM
sudo systemctl enable dhcpcd@enp1s0.service

I have these services running already: dhcpcd@enp1s0.service, dhcpcd@wlp2s0.service, system-dhcpcd.slice
sorry I copy pasted eth0 but really I have used enp1s0
enp1s0 is wired, wlp2s0 is wireless
hi seth o/

@edwardtorvalds hang on. Let's move this to another room. This is a private room created for moderation purposes. I'll just create a new one and ping you from there.
26 messages moved from Room for terdon and Edward

how did you move?

@edwardtorvalds OK, so what do you get from this command:
sudo systemctl status dhcpcd@enp1s0.service
@edwardtorvalds Mod magic :)

hehe nice
it says failed

3:55 PM
Show me

Just paste thing here, where we can see them:
● dhcpcd@enp1s0.service - dhcpcd on enp1s0
   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/dhcpcd@.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)
   Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Wed 2015-11-25 20:53:12 IST; 33min ago
  Process: 300 ExecStart=/usr/bin/dhcpcd -q -w %I (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)

Nov 25 20:52:41 ArchLinux systemd[1]: Starting dhcpcd on enp1s0...
Nov 25 20:52:41 ArchLinux dhcpcd[300]: enp1s0: adding address fe80::8c6b:44dd:4779:35b0
Nov 25 20:52:42 ArchLinux dhcpcd[300]: enp1s0: waiting for carrier
OK, no idea then. Post a question on the site.
