@Dick Harfield Even though we have the detail of Judah's part in hiring T-P, it's describing the same incident. Hosea speaks of Ephraim appealing to king Jared, Hosea 5:12-13, "Therefore I am like a moth to Ephraim And like rottenness to the house of Judah. When Ephraim saw his sickness, And Judah his wound, Then Ephraim went to Assyria And sent to King Jareb. But he is unable to heal you, Or to cure you of your wound."
That should say "Jareb" not "Jared". There is a summary of the issue in an article on Pekah king of Israel
I've just notice the title of the room says, "Ephraim hires Tiglath-Pileser". Of course, it should read, "Judah hires Tiglath Pileser". Sorry about that. Not on my game today.
