OK, I officially give up. I will NEVER understand the notability rules here.
Why was this one closed as not notable???
I can agree that it's a boring/meaningless claim. But not notable?

2:11 PM
@DVK: @Sklivvz explained in the comment that no one believes the claim is actually real. They all present it as a "urban myth".

Or at least all the examples he found
I may look further... I feel like it might be notable
But it's not super important to me.
@sklivvz I flagged the answer to my shoe lace question as not an answer and it was marked "disputed"
It is not an answer because it just says true things that are irrelevant to my question
What if they had written a well referenced answer about how wearing protective shoes prevents black toenails caused by falling objects
Sure that prevents one cause of black toe nail but says nothing about whether the medial-distal eyelet lacing technique is effective at preventing black toe nail
And in comments the answerer admits they found no info about that lacing technique having been researched
I sort of don't care if it stays up other than if it gets two upvotes, it auto wins the bounty
But, it also really isn't an answer to the question and may dissuade someone else from answering

Lol what if the notable claim is that "people actually believe that hello kitty ikitty's creator is a Satanist"
Or can urban myths exist without anyone believing them. Maybe.

@DVK posted a flowchart, does it help?

A: What should be done about properly answered non-notable old questions?

SklivvzIt's not necessary to provide evidence of notability unless there's doubt about it. Here's how notability rules work: So to answer your question, you can follow the flowchart starting at "Does a quick Google search...?" :-)

@sklivvz what about the shoelace answer?

@Sklivvz : That chart (great one) should be copied/moved to a better suited question, I think. E.g. the other one I asked yesterday about rules for notability. Only the last 2 steps on the chart are in scope for my question.
@Sklivvz "someone named jesus started christianity" - wouldn't it be more accurate to state that John teh Baptist started Christianity?
