@PhilipKendall I generally protect any question that is older and picks up another answer when it already has two deleted answers

Rarely are new answers to old questions from brand new users great - probably less than 1% of the time

I have no problem with protecting indiscriminately. they have at least a day on new questions and it's not like getting one upvote on an answer is that hard.

Jesus this is horrifying:

I'd also probably file an EEOC complaint stating that the company is forcing gender-based lines on public property.

Yeah, the OP must have the nicest colleagues imaginable (or be Canadian) if people have actually quit or transferred instead of doing that.
