Hello everyone, I'm new here (Greetings!). Is this a good place to discuss etiquette or should I create a new room?

Here's fine with me

I'm getting a message after asking a question on meta (for the first time) which says "You can only post once every 40 minutes". First time on workplace.se, so I'm not sure exactly what is happening here.

Q: Ask an anonymous question

BenI have asked a question here recently (anonymously - due to a sensitive matter), but I now can't do anything with it, since I don't actually have any reputation on the site (I can't edit the question, or comment on it to clarify). Is there anything I can do about this?

@enderland Eh, maybe. I legitimately thought it was a machine translation with zero effort made to clear up the resulting text. I don't feel the need to couch the message with vague pleasantries when someone hasn't put any effort into his post.

Your IP has posted before. Possibly your ISP switches your IP around or, more likely, you're from a country/region that has a single public IP.

@DoritoStyle if it's workplace etiquette, then here or possibly even in a question if you have enough of a structure around what you need to know

So what exactly do we need to do to get a bug noticed?

Q: Questions with ended bounties are not being removed from the "featured" tab

NathanielAccording to How does the bounty system work?, questions with bounties are removed from the "featured" tab once the bounty ends: Questions with an active bounty appear with a special icon in all question lists, and are also visible on the home page's Featured tab. During the grace period...

Q: Should I share my hobby-projects on LinkedIn?

Zoltán SchmidtSlightly related to another question, yet I have to ask separately. I have a quite special personal project I'm working on for more than a year - it's related to creative activities: writing, art (including video games) and so on. It's kind of like a product of my talents and skills and thus, I ...

but anyway, I might be interested, what else can you say about this topic?

Q: As Scrum Master, how do I stop a team member from giving up too easily?

bobo2000I am currently running a team that includes a developer. He is quite talented but the problem that he has is that when he gets stuck on a problem for a long period of time he simply loses interest when solving it and wants to move onto other tasks. Often telling me that 'Oh it can't be solved' ...

Can I get some reopen support please. I removed the programming specific language as this question is about leadership not the programming.

wouldn't it be better in Project Management SE?

Its not really about project management. It is about leadership. the answers could apply to any structure I think.
If the question was what are the expectations of me here as a scrum master then I would agree it belongs in pm

Why even phrase it in the context of Scrum Master then? You might as well just remove that preamble.
That bit is probably confusing the issue after all.
Hi @horsehair, thanks for joining. I was going to discuss our interaction here: workplace.stackexchange.com/questions/74032/…

Q: Can we reopen the question about notifify the company in the case of an emergency absence

ChadWhat are effective ways to communicate when I need to take time off immediately? This question is incredibly relevant to a large number of people. How do you properly communicate when you need to take a emergency absence so that your private business does not become the subject of office gossip...

Q: Can we improve the text of the “Advice on what to do” close reason?

David K“Advice on what to do” close reason is over-broad Questions asking for advice on what to do are not practical answerable questions (e.g. "what job should I take?", or "what skills should I learn?"). Questions should get answers explaining why and how to make a decision, not advice on wh...

re: http://workplace.stackexchange.com/questions/74032/is-it-unethical-to-not-hire-somebody-because-of-their-body-odor @horsehair
All of the chatter (mine included) has been removed at this point, so I can't really point to specifics (as it should be in my opinion; StackExchanges should be pretty strict about only having discussion relevant to questions and answers).

It seemed like you comments were verging into attacking some concept of "Politically Correct culture". That's pretty off-topic to begin with, but nobody in that thread was really arguing that one's body odor should be a protec
Moreover, it was a bit rude to accuse participants of acting overly sensitive and then to accuse me of censoring you for pointing that out. I hope you understand, and apologies if I've misunderstood you further.

omg, that was some seriously heavy handed moderation there apparently. I commented that I personally wouldn't hire someone with body odor and that could affect morale and turnover. It looks like that one's gone too.

Q: What is considered rude/abusive here? (Request for data)

Monica CellioThe Workplace has had a lot of discussions/arguments about what is or isn't rude. This came up most recently in chat, but it's at the core of a bunch of past meta questions too. It was also partially discussed in this meta question from 2012, though that question is broader. In discussions lik...

@ChristopherEstep From what I've heard from moderators, the interface for moderating comments is a lot easier to do heavy-handed than cautious. See this answer on meta for some details.

Well, it's unfortunate that flies are getting swatted with sledgehammers. It was a valid point based on personal experience which attacked nobody.
it is what it is, I guess. I'm sure given the tools I'd probably have to do the same.

Q: A lie: "We'll have an offer soon"

princelrc85I recently interviewed with a small, extremely promising company (40+ strong) in the healthcare industry. Could somebody enlighten me what makes this question reopenable, especially in its current state?

Q: Fired too many times, how do I handle?

XTina De JesusI've had many jobs throughout my life and most of them I have been fired . How do I write my resume? Do I include all those jobs? And if I get called for an interview, do I tell the truth? There's no good explanation to the situations, but Im ready to do well . If given the chance...

This is one I thinks should stay open. Multiple firings and someone trying to get on track after not one, but numerous mistakes would IMO be good to have around, simply because it's a fairly astounding position to be in.
