@RaoulMensink All numeric data types are signed (where applicable) in the SQL standard. I'd have to enforce a constraint on the column, which would probably end up throwing errors when Access tried to assign a negative AutoNumber; or perhaps use a trigger, which is way more complexity than this problem is worth. I think returning a type ends up being the simplest/cleanest solution.
