@MonicaCellio They aren't condescending terms, nor used in a condecending manner. It's a shame that just because you're unfamiliar with them you naturally think they are insulting. Younger people than you have the same right to use this chatroom as you do, and surely they should be able to use the language that they are most used to without being accused of being defamatory
I wish there was a badge for "Started typing an answer first but didn't submit first".
I'd have a few dozen of the damn things.
@Pequod You are being condescending and, frankly, childish. That you do not recognise that or simply choose not to is on you, not us. Age has nothing to do with being respectful.
I think plenty of things about you but none of them are valid arguments. If you can't make an effort to be polite and respectful then you really have no business being here. And please stop pretending like this is just about your use of a single word. It's your attitude that's the problem here.
@bilbo_pingouin The problem is that he's poisoning the entire chat and I'd rather not have first-timers be turned away by his behaviour.
Which means that I and several other people in this chat continuously have to point out the problem, which restarts the entire discussion where he retreats into his fantasy world where everyone but him is the grinch trying to keep him down while I'd say that the opposite is true.
I am not a regular user of the chat. Heck, I think before yesterday, I actually never came here. But since then, it has been constant discussion about the same theme. While I don't approve of that kind of behaviour, I really think that the user showed they are not willing to disccus or accept criticism. I'm just wondering whether it is useful to continue feeding them...
To be honest @ToshinouKyouko, I think you're actually the first one here. I've got an anime avatar but I dare say my name is German rather than Japanese...
actually, for many years, France was the markets for mangas (comic books), but Germany was the market for animes. And in France some generation got started on animes from Japan... but through Italy (and Berlusconi).
No, these are the groups where startups actively recruit people.
People post their skills and a bit about their projects, and startups or their founders comment asking for their numbers or giving their own numbers to connect.
In India, there are a lot of ways to come across/find a potential co-founder.
Facebook: Many people under-estimate facebook as a potential productivity tool. But, there are several startup groups on facebook, where serious startup discussions and recruiting happens. I have met my co-founder on...
I appreciate there are similar questions such as this question, but it doesn't quite meet my concerns.
Background:
In early March, I'll have been working in my business for 2 years, originally taken on as a graduate web developer on £17k basic in a small team: my manager, myself and a dev for n...
> The other 2 devs have no idea how the phones work, administration, internet networking etc... works. So I do feel I have a lot of leverage to work with.
That's what's always bugged me about "leverage" in a salary negotiation.
How do you walk that fine line between "look at all the stuff I do that's so damn important" versus "if I'm not happy with my salary I might leave and then you people are really screwed"
@Enderland - I'm currently working on a complex project. It has a few issues, and I've included some temporary workarounds, however I feel it is self documenting.
I wonder if there's a tactful way to say "After learning that this monstrosity was allowed onto a productive environment, the only way I'll ever again feel safe using this code base will be when we've nuked it from orbit?"
You can create a YO DAWG meme (http://memegenerator.net/Yo-Dawg) with the comment "YO DAWG! YOU ARE THE FIRST ONE TO COMPLAIN, SO I COMPLAIN ABOUT BEING THE FIRST ONE TO COMPLAIN" and then print it out and show that every time
A bit of background

I just saw incendiary reviews of Hired! at http://blog.openviewpartners.com/hired-com-review/ , and suspect that there others, but would love to see some SE types give the good, the bad, and the ugly of seeking employment via Hired! The obvious problem is that the obvious ways I see of asking wou...
