So I was enjoying my new 500 rep privilege by looking though the first post queue when I happened across this question

Q: Customary to ask for references from new grad with no work experience?

A__A__0My question is simple: is it customary for entry-level software engineering/tech jobs to ask new/recent graduate for references, even if they have no work experience? In other words, this would necessitate academic references. I'm asking because I am in this position and I want to make sure I hav...

I decided to edit the post to add a little part asking if academic references were required
but because I was not use to the layout of the review queue I didn't notice there were already two answers and it made one of them not really complete! Oh no!
I know edits which change the are generally no-nos but... 1) The original question still exists, 2) the revision I made hopefully will promote answers other than 'yes' type answers
should I try flag for mod attention, edit again, just leave it?

@IanHolstead it looks like the user made some more edits
and they made it back to a yes/no again :S

@MattGiltaji and it still adds a part to the question...
also @MattGiltaji did you get the auto comment extension working?

@IanHolstead yeah, I had to follow this though:

A: How do I directly modify a Google Chrome Extension File? (.CRX)

sathishI searched it in google and i found this The Google Chrome Extension file type is CRX. It is essentially a compression format. So if you want to see what is behind an extension, the scripts and the code, just change the file-type from “CRX” to “ZIP” . Unzip the file and you will get all t...

because it allows you to load an "unpacked extension"
even if its not from chrome web store

@MattGiltaji ok thanks, yay for chrome being secure and all, but man its a pain to get extensions on it sometimes...

@IanHolstead yeah, the fact that its disabled on windows only is a pain too

Borat SagdiyevYakshemash ! Many companies do ask for references, but some don't. I have seen more of the former type. I assume that you did not create trouble in class and have a decent record as a student, meaning getting things done properly, no cheating, maintaining proper decorum in class, getting decent g...

I think he is trying to be funny, but its not really helpful to reference borat...

despite it being from an account by a fictional character, i think it actually does answer the question

@MattGiltaji I agree
but the end doesnt help...

@IanHolstead no, it doesn't... but it is humorous

also, the content he posted is not legit (aka stolen)
@MattGiltaji ... I guess... (full disclosure, I'm not a fan of the movie)

@IanHolstead we have to report it then
@IanHolstead its from the tv show, not movie
movie was much more offensive than the tv show

Da Ali G Show is the name of two related satirical TV series created by and starring English comedian Sacha Baron Cohen and featuring the character Ali G. The first (2000) series originally aired on Channel 4 in the UK, and the second (2003–2004) series on HBO in the US. The second series was known as Ali G in da USAiii in the UK and Australia. In the series, Baron Cohen plays as three unorthodox journalists—the main character Ali G, a Kazakh named Borat Sagdiyev, and a gay Austrian named Brüno Gehard.
