I feel like an idiot for doing it this way, but it seems appropriate. Anyway, there was an odd suggested edit that deserved to be a meta thread, so I posted it in meta here:

Q: Ethical Questions Should be Allowed

jmacThis suggested edit by Mihai Nicolae was more appropriate as a meta post, so I am adding the content of the edit here for discussion by the community. This was regarding the question "Is a complex test which benefits the company an ethical practice?": Please reopen this question, as it falls...

However this is really a duplicate of a discussion here:

Q: Are Ethics part of our purview?

RarityWe've collected a fair amount of ethics questions. In my opinion "ethics" in general is too subjective and distant from a "real" problem to be an answerable question; everyone has an opinion, but no one has an answer. Often the "real" problem has more to do with what's a smart thing to do or what...

I would appreciate closing it as such. I even made the first vote. Still find it odd to create and vote to close my own post.

And more oddity elsewhere! After an aggressive edit, the author self-deleted this post (which I think is a good question):

Q: Moderator Cheat Sheet

user149432As an alternative to the other FAQ format being fleshed out here on MSO, I'd like to propose something far more terse that covers the bare essential mechanics of being a moderator. Feel free to add more questions, but keep them short: this isn't the place to get into complex moderation issues, ...

Q: What information is important when introducing yourself to coworkers you have never met?

user55195Today, my manager introduced me to an employee who's visiting us from a different geographical location. The person is visiting our office for 2 weeks. I don't know anything about him and I don't have any working relationship with him either. When introduced to a colleague you have never worked w...

You have just articulated why I voted to close this question... — enderland 3 mins ago
kinda nice when someone else writes an explanation as to why you vote to close their question :)
@jmac the title of your meta post makes me want to disagree
but your text is different

2:13 PM
@enderland It is a meta post by proxy! Don't go blaming me for it, I was doing good by another user!

2:55 PM
uh oh a @YannisRizos sighting everyone run

@jmac I was confused too, thought you were asking broadly about ettiquette, rather than about a single post
@enderland you scared him off
@jmac doesn't it feel wrong when you edit a question into shape then post an answer to it? :P

Q: How to implement a "jeans for charity" policy?

KristenI am interested in starting a "jeans for charity" policy at my workplace. My company is going to allow people in our office to pay 3-5 each for the option to the wear jeans on the last Friday of each month. I am concerned about the best way to implement this as it is new to our company. What sor...

not quite a @jmac edit but hopefully it builds on what @GreenMatt did to make the Q better

@RhysW Very very very wrong.
Companies receive money to allow employees to dress down? This seems like such a backward concept to me. Perhaps I've been out of the country too long? If the dress code accomplishes nothing (in the sense that allowing people to dress down for money doesn't have a negative effect), shouldn't the company just donate to charity for people who dress professionally instead of having people pay to dress down?

Q: This place is AWESOME!

ClordioNot really a question but an incredibly grateful comment. I am so thankful for this site's creation. I only recently became aware of it having a lot of programming questions lately. Seems any and all questions I ever ask are already here so again, THANK YOU FOR EXISTING!
