@Iszi - They recently nerfed the three of coins. The best process I have found for using them is to use 8 all at once after getting the strike bonus. This has yielded an exotic drop for me 5 times so far. However, out of all the coin drops and from other players I have talked to, the three of coins engram has always been armor. From 17 drops I have heard of, they have all been armor.

@twobugs - Well at least you getting an exotic weapon gives me hope. Which ultra dropped it, if you don't mind me asking? The rapid succession was what made them so useful in my opinion, so that is why I believe it was a nerf. I think I still have like 50 left over that I am now using one at a time in the current environment.

@TravisJ why would you use 8 at a time? They don't stack. You can definitely get exotic weapon engrams as well, I have.

@twobugs - Confirmed, I got an exotic weapon engram last night, but it was Invective of all things :(

@TravisJ you're misinterpreting: "Xûr will also sell a new consumable, the Three of Coins, which gives bosses a chance to drop Exotic Engrams, including Weapon Engrams. These consumables have a cumulative luck effect, so even if one doesn’t net you a drop, the next one has a higher chance to do so." Source: BWU 9/17/2015. The "stackable" effect is the increased drop chance. Using multiple does not increase your chances more until the three of coins has been consumed.

@turbo - The tooltip states "Stackable effect that increases the chances the next Ultra you defeat will drop an Exotic Engram." I took stackable to mean that you can use multiple at once and the effect will stack. I see the quote you are showing, but have also had success using many at once. I am not sure that using more than one at one time has no effect.

@TravisJ I agree the tooltip is a bit ambiguous. However, people report a ratio of about 5 coins to 1 exotic using the one-at-a-time method. You can read around for other's accounts. How has your luck been using 8 at a time?

@turbo - What I would do was use one on a heroic strike. And then on the second strike once I had the buff I would use all 8. This worked 4 times in a row to yield an exotic engram, but they were all armor :(

also just a tip, after you do 3 a week, there's not really a reason to do heroic strikes anymore. you can get just as good rewards from the 36 strikes.

Strange Coins kind of come easily now so I figured that if 14 strange coins was 10 three of coins that seemed like it would be fair to be an exotic engram

Are there really no extra rewards or mobs in heroic versus the 36?

nope

it's just more difficult

and there are more mobs, so I guess you potentially have more drop chances for engrams

but you can run a 36 in probably about 2/3 the time and use a 3oC on the boss to increase your exotic chance

Hm, I will consider that. I kind of enjoy the challenge aspect of it but more loot is always welcome

I hope the hard mode of the raid is more difficult than the normal one

yeah normal is pretty easy now, wonder when hard will be released

We told this one guy, on the daughters fight, to jump on the platforms above the pads that form. And he gets on the first pad, the runs on the ground to the next pad, and then starts running towards the mid... was just like "wipe"

haha, well the first time you run all of that it's pretty disorienting, lots of new mechanics

yup, it is pretty basic though once you get used to the whole counter clockwise thing, the bosses go down quick

@turbo - Have you done any of the poe stuff since the expansion, is there anything worthwhile in there?

yeah, all you really need is a good sniper and a MG

yeah I don't care that much for emblems, but I was level 20, day 1, so I made sure I got the Y1 feats done

For a long time I was trying to get rolls on the new monarchy vanquisher during year 1

So I have all of their stuff and am like rank 45

Yeah, definitely got a large share of those. Even the sniper rifle from New Monarchy sucked.

I am really hurt that Patience and Time is gone from the expan.

There is only one exotic sniper now in year 2, and it is mediocre at best.

haha nice. Yeah I have one, it's pretty nice. Haven't tried it in PvP yet though. Typically stick to a scout/shotgun setup and run around with my titan
