1:45 AM
Goddammit @JeffreyLin why have you broken everything
Stop breaking everything
(I can't help you I have no idea}

user43095
2:16 AM
Not my fault Cloudatcost has crappy harddrives.

user43095
Actually not sure if this points to physical defect or just file system error.

user43095
Probably the latter, in which case I could just .tar.gz the home directory and reimage.

user43095
It'd only be problematic if I was getting like Input/Output errors.

2:34 AM
"Oh man, EE3 came out before Xycraft. I just made five bucks" - a YouTube Commenter
"Iron Ore has the same EMC value as ingots" "Yep, intended; you can't learn how to take iron ore out of EMC, but you can put iron ore in and get EMC if you're lazy"
Ooo
He thought of everything this time

10 hours later…
12:26 PM
We need LookingGlass in the pack
Conduits looking different too in latest EnderIO
Damnit @JeffreyLin figure out the versions pls so we can break different mod versions
Oh man
Conduits to make chests searchable

12:43 PM
aka AE2 lite

Yeah the interface uses some fluid you can make in a vat I think as power
Doesn't require RF
So while the stuff to make it requires RF it'd be totally possible to use this for storage that doesn't require any RF

1:09 PM
I'm not sure it's "early game" AE though...
it requires emeralds and complicated machines
AE's just a diamond, a couple of survivalist generators, and some iron and certus quartz

@Jochem and the presses

@ratchetfreak not as much of a consideration on a server, someone's bound to have them.

@Jochem Problem with AE is all the hassle it is
Finding meteors isn't easy without flight either
You need the plates, inscribers, quartz

I mean, sure, it's a hassle, but it's not so bad if you focus on it... I'm mostly saying that there's also a bunch of hassle involved in the EnderIO version, so I don't really see it as a lower techlevel
you need an enderman skull, a slice'n'dice, a soul infusion thingy... then you need to set up a nutrient distillation setup, which means you need a source of meat and a source of sugar, which is two separate farms...
it's not really a complaint though, it's a pretty powerful thing, so it should be decently hard to get... I just don't see the "oh, early-game AE lulz" part of it

Oh no it's not an early game AE
It's just a welcome alternative if you're planning on using chests

1:25 PM
yeah :) or any other iSided thing like barrels, DSUs, or even potentially the pretty drawers thing
:o I wonder if it'll let you pull items out of the pretty storage Drawer Controller, that'd be awesome
that's another nice one for the modpack btw, if it's not in already
the compacting drawers apparently make great cobble compressors, instantaneous compression without lag, and it skips a step, so straight from uncompressed to double if you want

1:43 PM
@Jochem I didn't say "early game" just "AE2 lite" as in see all your storage and be able to craft in the same gui

2:17 PM
@Jochem The drawers should work
They're just a massive inventory
At least.. that's what @KevinvanderVelden told me

Yes
They work just fine with AE

@KevinvanderVelden did you find a spot for the AE?

ah cool

@Ieuan No I went back to work =p

>:(

2:18 PM
@Jochem only potential problem I can think of if you're crafting, say, anvils and you have the iron in compacting drawers
If you have 27 iron AE will see 3 blocks, 27 ingots, and 27*9 nuggets

The font in my chatbox looks weird, it's like one pixel is missing and Chrome just doesn't care
Fuck I'm seeing it in different places now, other websites too

maybe you are zoomed?

@ratchetfreak Could be that I was at 99 or 101% but that'd be weird lol
Can't even scroll zoom there
Restarting chrome fixed it though
Who is Baba Yaga?

Baba Yaga is a witch from folklore
Lives in a hut, eats children, that kind of thing

Why was Baba Yaga in our mob farm?

2:27 PM
I 'unno
Someone named themselves after her and they're in headcrumbs?

There's also someone named 'Head' on our floor

I was starting a Forgecraft zoo with the headcrumbs mobs, but they despawned :(
on my AS2 map

Aww
Should've used jailer nets

rip

@Ieuan breadcrumb head that I placed
s/bread/head

2:35 PM
@KevinvanderVelden you made disks too expensive :( 3 stacks of diamonds for 13 64k drives

that honestly sounds about right

Iron Ingot X 3
Redstone X 187
Nether Quartz Dust X 25
Sand X 20
Glowstone Dust X 16
Certus Quartz Crystal X 108
Inscriber Logic Press X 1
Gold Ingot X 27
Inscriber Silicon Press X 4
Certus Quartz Dust X 40
Inscriber Calculation Press X 1
Pure Certus Quartz Crystal X 9
Inscriber Engineering Press X 2
Diamond X 4

You need to make them exactly or else you could craft one and pull out more resources than you started

Yeah

2:36 PM
to infinity

Did you calculate them all manually Kevin?

Because they should automatically do all if you define the base resources

that's about 4 blocks of iron too much for the presses, they're part of the recipe but not used up in any way

Is this EE3 or the EE2 project "goddammit pahimar release EE3" thing?

2:37 PM
@Jochem I did not use that list for the calculation =p

@Unionhawk ProjectE

@Unionhawk ProjectE, so no @Ieuan they don't
ProjectE does not have that except for vanilla things
And AE2 does not use the vanilla crafting handler

Ah
That's where terminal is now
Controller and one drive full of 64k disks is below on the ground, we'll move that to a better place if we need to

How many anti matter relays do you need?
What are they for?

2:43 PM
EMC storage ;)

Ah

In this case: Yeah it's just storing the EMC, I needed a few more and there's a lot of EMC in that chest so I set it to that

I still remember the layout of the base I had when EE2 was a thing
it's all coming back seeing those interfaces and textures :)

Kleinn stars + annihilation catalysts = best mining

I really want to check out EE3 since it's apparently released
And functional

2:46 PM
Is there any way to automate through EMC?

it should be in the pack @Ieuan and @JeffreyLin are putting together on the server

Guess not because recipes are per player and not exactly solid
@Jochem I was going to put EE3 in but apparently it's not public anymore

@Ieuan aw, that sucks :( I was really looking forward to playing around with it :(

Oh wait
Latest commit 13 hours ago

@Ieuan that's immersive engineering
Different thing

2:47 PM
Oh
Immersive Engineering isn't public anymore you mean?

I thought immersive engineering is public but you need to build it yourself

That had a simple rule: We're making the source public so anyone who can compile it can use it, because those that can compile it can properly do bug reports. People broke that rule by publishing the compiled version for everyone
@Unionhawk was ^
@Ieuan yes

Was public. great job guys.

We could build the build from 2 weeks ago
And distribute that to break rules

You dicks people can use javac on their own respect the developers or face the wrath of @Uni

2:49 PM
distribute is a big word, if it's for a small server full of people that can do proper bugreports

I mean, you can't distribute the built version but you can distribute a .zip with the source and a .bat file that extracts said zip and builds it right :D?

(and probably like doing proper bug reports...)

@Ieuan Probs

I mean, there's a 50/50 chance any bug report coming from here will include a patch

What are the odds of us reaching out to the developer and getting some variety of access on those grounds?

2:51 PM
Could try
So.. who here has the most impressive github profile?

"Not I," said @Uni

I don't think I even have an account <_<

I have like, nearly nothing on it: github.com/KevinVDVelden
2 games, a repo with a test, some make files for C++ development

I have like 30 commits in the last 5 years
If anyone wants to help speed the pack along, that's the link
T0.5 contains all broken shit too, fix something and let me know

@Ieuan so download, run, test, fix bugs, report fix to you? (as in, which version of which mod to replace?)

2:59 PM
@Jochem Yes

kk

Or let me know you want to help out even more and I'll get you an account in Solder

I'm not even sure I'll get around to the first part... I'll try and take a look though :)

I may look into it
I forgot we're distributing over technic lawnchair

Technic is pretty decent now
Better than FTB launcher

3:13 PM
It's its own thing really

found 2 things so far, aromar1997core is missing and forestry is 0 bytes

@Jochem Forestry 0 bytes.. @JeffreyLin messed something up

hehe
Is the mod list necessarily indicative of what is there?

@Ieuan probably :) There's a ton of missing core mods so far... buildcraft's jar is in the 'mod' folder instead of 'mods'... I'm just going through while eating my pre-biking snack

Or is that a separate little thing?

3:17 PM
@Unionhawk The mod list is roughly what there is
I added a new build a bit ago so it'll take some hours for the mod list on the website to update
Because that's cached

Forestry doesn't show up at all on the thing

Yeah
I removed that before

oic
I literally cannot help then until hometime. Got it.

Buildcraft and forestry should be fixed
@Jochem reinstall pack

@Ieuan I just got everything to load (BC7 and LogisticsPipes don't work together) and I'm heading out to go biking for a bit now... I'll reinstall and retry later maybe
I've done this:
[added aroma1997core 1.0.2.13](http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1287828-aroma1997s-mods-betterchests-mining-world-mod)
[forestry 3.5.6.15 was 0 bytes](http://www.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/forestry)
[buildcraft 6.4.16 stable instead of 7.0.5 because of LP](http://www.mod-buildcraft.com/pages/download.html)
[replace iChunutil with latest 4.2 version](http://ichun.us/mods/ichunutil/)
[added ttCore](http://www.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/226082-ttcore)

3:26 PM
Thanks

curses, markdown failure :(

Multiline doesn't like anything
Except quotes or something dumb

You can add 4 spaces or ``

now it's complaining about a duplicate enchantment id between betterstorage and thaumictinkerers:
Duplicate enchantment id! class thaumic.tinkerer.common.enchantment.EnchantmentPounce and class net.mcft.copy.betterstorage.item.EnchantmentBetterStorage Enchantment ID:170
lemme know if you get any further than that, otherwise I'll just reinstall the pack and continue where I left off when I get a chance

Why does betterstorage have enchants
Keys?
Is that that mod?

3:30 PM
potentially, the one where you can lock chests or something?

I think it is yeah
Where you can enchant a key with lockpicking and whatnot

@Jochem iChunUtil 4.2.2?

it complained about needing 4.0 or higher, and 5.x didn't work, so I grabbed 4.2. I figure some other mod will complain later, but I figured I'd see that when I get there
It'll come down to "either this ichun mod or the other"
probably
anyway, shutting down PC now, bbl!

Alright T0.6 pushed, should contain all those changes

3:57 PM
We need to add EE3 and the mod that adds a lunchbox
I'll be back in about an hour then I'll test T0.6 and add configs to the pack
>.<
[B#301] [18:01:12] [Client thread/WARN] [FML]: Zip file ._iChunUtil-4.2.2.jar failed to read properly, it will be ignored

4:20 PM
@Ieuan ichun why
y u do dis

user43095
4:48 PM
@Ieuan fix the server

5:33 PM
dammit Azanor, this isn't a WARN level event... [19:30:29] [Client thread/WARN] [THAUMCRAFT/Thaumcraft]: Adding standard crop support for [Artichoke Crop]
repeat that for every single item in pam's harvestcraft

[Client thread/WARN] [THAUMCRAFT/Thaumcraft]: It's a lovely day, how about some tea?

hehehe :)

My favorite is the one Natura and I think Tinkers' does to make sure they're together. Something like "What are we going to do, Natura?" "We're going to take over the world"

there was a mod posted on the ftb subreddit recently that listed all the ores and their various types in the world, so that you could go through and tweak your mods so that there aren't any doubles... anyone remember what it's called? reddit search is failing me as usual
uni: yeah, stuff like that always makes me laugh
ah, found it!
as usual, Tin and Copper are a problem.

5:55 PM
Thermal Foundation version if that's your next question

which to keep you mean? I figured disable the forestry ones, though there's also extra tcon tin... I think... might just be the gravel ore stuff
hm, ok, tcon and forestry stuff disabled. Time for dinner, then I'll test a new world to see if there's no duplicates

6:15 PM
Everyone who is going to play on the server please vote real quick: strawpoll.me/4477618
I'd say yes because TC research is boring and repetitive
Also @Jochem send me your configs when you get everything working

@Ieuan afaik that easy research is just "buy stuff with points" instead of "get note for free, spend points on research"
the way it works in agrarian skies

Yes
It makes all research buy with points not just some

I'm voting yes primarily because i've done most of the research already and don't feel like doing it again

@Jochem Pretty much yeah

though it's a bit cheaper to do it manually I think

6:20 PM
I mean, I doubt anyone really enjoys doing all the research every time

I said no but I'm slightly indifferent here.
It's really almost more of an "abstain"

@Unionhawk Well if you're more towards no than towards yes your vote still counts
Brb PC crapping up

user43095
7:08 PM
Has the system changed? Or will it remain the same for all of TC4?

7:26 PM
@JeffreyLin afaik it's still the same
@Ieuan for when you're back: I updated bdlib and gendustry to the latest versions (to get /oredistribution which is amazing):
http://www.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/bdlib/2239718
http://www.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/gendustry/2239766

user43095
And aren't we giving those who have already completed research the research back?

I also disabled oregen in Forestry:
# set to false to force forestry to skip generating own copper ore blocks in the world
world.generate.copper=false
# set to false to force forestry to skip generating own tin ore blocks in the world
world.generate.tin=false
and ticon:
B:"Generate Copper"=false
B:"Generate Tin"=false
while leaving gravel ores (surface ores) and oreberry bushes intact

@JeffreyLin can do changes too
watching movie w/ gf and daughter

ah okies, hf

7:42 PM
I've also updated Botania to build 190 (it was complaining, and apparently fixes a log spam issue
I'm looking at the modlist and I'm missing Openblocks and Open peripherals, anyone have any objections to adding those? How about Storage Drawers?
hm, they were in the mod spreadsheet, any particular reason for not adding them? (@JeffreyLin?)

8:02 PM
so there's 18 mods on the spreadsheet that aren't in the pack as of right now (big missing ones: mystcraft, openblocks/peripherals, project red, SFM, with some pretty interesting other ones missing as well)... I'm going to assume you just haven't gotten around to adding them yet, and I'm going to try to find versions that'll work in the existing pack. I'll document what versions I used with download links

@Jochem Botania has tons of builds
Literal tons
Vazkii is insane

@Unionhawk yeah, I just figured I'd update it cause it was available... And fixed some logspam, which is really annoying sometimes
considering we have harvestcraft, shouldn't we have atleast hungeroverhaul and probably spice of life as well?

Could do

user43095
I realize that if you disable oregen you'll have less ores with different IDs, but won't you also get less ores/chunk?

user43095
Also, anyone want a Google Inbox invite?

8:16 PM
@JeffreyLin We can buff numbers in thermal foundation if we want it's fine

user43095
Oh that's neat.

I am not handling 3 types of one ore
Hell, we could probably just copy the DW20 oregen configs

@JeffreyLin no thanks, I think I've already got one somewhere... it also just doesn't work well with how I do email.
and yeah, there's probably a bit less ores now, but that's not necessarily bad

We can change that, but I'm not handling 3 types of copper

other than mod-specific ores (like aluminium in TiCon), only Thermal Foundation is generating ores, and they (in their infinite wisdom) decided on a certain distribution of ores. I've got the numbers somewhere
these are percentages of all ores, this is just the top 7 of a long list that includes shards from Thaumcraft, certus quartz, stuff like that
Coal - 142,924 (28%)
Iron - 81,322 (16%)
Lead - 35,768 (7.1%)
Tin - 29,501 (5.8%)
Redstone - 28,403 (5.6%)
Silver - 25,328 (5.0%)
Copper - 22,371 (4.4%)

user43095
8:21 PM
Tinker's metal blocks have a tooltip that say they can be used for beacon bases, other mod blocks can be used too though right?

yeah, some of them can be I think
iirc the metals from botania for example

science can be done

ticon just likes it's tooltips

I believe in you
You can test these things

8:39 PM
3x3 of metal, beacon, does it light up y/n
If you build a beacon out of ham blocks, do you have to call it a bacon?

user43095
Is that the only thing ham blocks do?

it should only fill your hunger bar if you build a beacon out of bacon!
no other effects

user43095
Healing axe ftw

We need EE3 or ProjectE
The projectE healing thing is pretty amazing
@JeffreyLin did you do anything with the changes above yet?

@Ieuan I'm working through the list of mods that aren't in the pack but were on the spreadsheet, there's a whole bunch of changes coming up

8:51 PM
@Jochem Want me to give you access to Solder?

user43095
How are you doing things without solder access?

@Ieuan sure

@Jochem Give me an email address to send stuff to
@JeffreyLin Invited everyone here to fix shit and let me know what to change
You messed up a lot mister Jeffrey

@JeffreyLin manually. I'm just downloading mods, sticking them in the mods folder, and testing if it works
@Ieuan jochem.meyers at gmail

user43095
I did what you told me to do though :(

8:53 PM
@Jochem That S in the end is just too bad

user43095
I downloaded the mods and put them in the thing

@Ieuan that's Myjer :)

@JeffreyLin Buildcraft had 'mod' instead of 'mods' folder and forestry was 0b

also, you wouldn't believe how many people follow me on twitter because they think I'm someone else

@Jochem Still, could've fooled a lot of people (even not 100% stupid ones) if that S wasn't there :P

8:55 PM
hehe, yeah ^_^ I get a decent amount of comments whenever new people hear my name

user43095
Okay, those two were my fault. Probably why something was complaining that we didn't have Forestry 3+

Alright @Jochem I'll send you the same email I sent @JeffreyLin, it has quite a bit of not so nice vocab in it

I've been testing with seed 'echoreply'. don't use that one, you spawn in a terrible poisoned biome

user43095
You'll love the password

@Ieuan thanks :D

8:57 PM
We should totes seed hunt some instead of randomness

user43095
Unionhawkisaterribleperson is our new seed

Alright @Jochem check the bottom of the email for your Solder stuff
I really feel like I should make a wiki article somewhere with a better explanation and pictures but that email should contain everything

user43095
Is it a terrible idea to tar.gz a whole system, reimage, and then restore?

But either way it's basically make zip > upload zip to right directory [> add mod] > add version
@JeffreyLin Yes
Is there anything relevant on it?

@JeffreyLin if it checks out and gives us a decent spawn

user43095
9:00 PM
@Ieuan Uh, tor configs and whatever is in the home directory (probably the vanilla stuff).

Go for it

@JeffreyLin tar.gz those and /home/* and drop the rest
Assuming it's that cloudatcost one

user43095
It is

@Ieuan just FYI, gmail thinks you're a spammer because your email was "in violation of Google's recommended email sender guidelines."

@Jochem Yeah hotmail blocked my server completely, still have to check out gmail
No problem though, I only ever email to gmail when someone knows I will send them something

9:03 PM
just figured I'd let you know :) Remember that some businesses have google apps and will also get your mail marked as spam

Yeah I know

user43095
What are the guidelines?

user43095
Which one did you violate though?

user43095
I find that doing "Dear...." and "Thanks..." helps your email get through the filter.

9:08 PM
@JeffreyLin Had some issues with IP being blocked and moved all mail to a different IP, probably that
Hmm
Should SPF record return the mail IP?

user43095
Oh wait I'm stupid

user43095
I've been running fsck on the wrong thing

user43095
/dev/mapper/CAC_VG-CAC_LV

Alright checked some stuff, DKIM now on and SPF records should be all correct
Now just need to wait until enough gmail users mark my emails as not spam

user43095
That'll take five years

user43095
9:13 PM
At the rate of which you email people.

Lol

9:37 PM
@Jochem did you get through the email alive?

@Ieuan I did, thanks. I needed to do some other stuff for a bit. I'll either go through some tonight, or work on it tomorrow

@Jochem Aight, just wanted to make sure I hadn't killed you :P

nah, I'm a dutch guy in his 30s, it's pretty much impossible to offend me

@Jochem Didn't mean the possible offense but the horrible explanation of Solder lol

ah ok :) nah, I think I can figure it out ^_^

user43095
9:46 PM
It's not hard. (Add mod), add versions

user43095
The interface itself prevents you from screwing up

Well the initial few are hard because it seems harder than it is
You guys just be glad I went through the hard part
Setting all of Solder up was hell, figuring out how it all works without proper docs was almost as bad

user43095
Setting it up? Must have been a pain

I think the primary issue is making those frickin zip files

user43095
Nah

user43095
9:47 PM
Make a folder called mods

user43095
F2 on jar, copy the thing

user43095
Put jar in folder, zip folder

user43095
Rename zip

user43095
Toss the "mods" folder since we zipped it

@JeffreyLin I mean, in the end I could do it again within 20 minutes but figuring it all out without any real documentation was bullshit

user43095
9:49 PM
Solder is still beta right?

In the end it's just install LEMP or LAMP, install git, git pull, run the scripts, setup apache vhosts for two different ports or domains and direct them to the right folders and you're good to go

user43095
Checking for bad blocks on the crap server

Yeah solder is
@Jochem Once I got into a pattern with the first 80 I did about 70 in roughly half an hour
It's faster to add a new mod + zip file than to do either separately
Because of the slug shit

user43095
Probably wouldn't be hard to write a script to zip the files, might be hard automating the renaming

user43095
Although downloading from curseforge usually has it in the right format
