Believe it or not I have a lot of storage left, the drives you see are all 64k

But yeah, it immediately set me to making all of the things I need to make a lot more.

Did a bit more, glowstone looks a bit shite in sphax, so I replaced almost all of it with either vibrant quartz glass, or enlightened fused quartz.

1 64x64 quarry almost fills up one 64k drive. There's 16 drive housings with 10 slots each, so 160 drives that I could fill (though I'm reserving 40 of them for fluid storage)

@TimPost Sweet. Not sure I like the exposed cables on the right side, but I guess it can't be helped, you'll need those channels.

@TimPost Don't forget to let us know when you have a server up, and where we should download the required modpack. I'd love to try the new thaumcraft and the new AE2, haven't played neither...

@TimPost "filled up" is relative though, right? I mean, there's no way all 63 types are full from just one quarry. If you format them properly, I doubt you could fill 2 drives with 10 64x64 quarries

@Arperum If I don't get a quote back at some point today for the fully dedicated box, I'm bringing up a VPS at some point tomorrow. Probably enlist some help of folks here (I'll toss up a zip of my mods and 128x textures for convenience, but if work pulls me in 5 directions you guys can work on it a bit

@TimPost I'm having a calm day tomorrow. Never screwed around with a linux hosting though. Only servers I've set up are those on my own windows pc. hides in shame

It's pretty simple, from what I can tell. I should be able to get it to the point where the server is up and secured, and set to a whitelist. All you need is a ftp / sftp client to be able to get to config files, and a terminal to be able to run commands. Probably going to set world backup to be a cron job anyway, so ..

The folder structure (IIRC) is basically the same

One of our sysadmins (actually, the director of IT Peter Grace) also plays a lot, so I'm sure we can get some help if we need it :)

@TimPost I'm very much used to ftp, and command line usage is not that hard (and happens on windows too, all that is needed is figuring out the right commands. And AFAIK PuTTY is a good option for SSH-access to a linux server.

@TimPost This is the .sh I used to backup the previous server. It assumes you're running the server in a screen window called 'stuff', and uses rdiff-backup to only backup changes / have incrementals going back 7 days: pastebin.com/YC1EvciN

so it backed up the log for the current running session, but not the previous ones
