I just noticed that terrafirmacraft got it's 1.7 update. So if anyone thinks they need to make themself suffer through it, you can do it in 1.7 fashion now.

Really, TerraFirmaCraft is its own game. The underlying minecraft version won't matter until performance enhancements in 1.8

Yea, it contains a warning about 1.7 lightning calculations being stupid and a link to some mod to fix it.

Looks like Extra Utilities screwed up

user43095
Also sorting pipes with steam don't put insert into steam consumer?

user43095
1:53 AM
With this setup, why am I seeing Input Limited when there's only 8 mB/t of steam per consumer when the max is 1000 mB? I thought the boiler autoejected steam.

2:27 AM
@JeffreyLin Bugs in the power converters re-write. You'll also see a ton of errors coming out of OpenGL when you open the dialog.

user43095
@TimPost I'm already getting a lot of OpenGL errors.

user43095

@JeffreyLin Okay now that's weird. But client side, I'm not sure what's doing that.
I had a steam -> rf setup going for a while, I ended up avoiding placing more than one consumer on a bridge (multiple producers seems to be okay)
When we go to 1.7.10, which I hope is going to be very very soon, a lot of annoying bugs are going to vanish.

user43095
This graphical bug seems to have started ever since I started dual-booting with Ubuntu.

user43095
I decided that day to play some MC.

user43095
2:30 AM
And then the next day I came back to Windows and this happened.

Now that's even stranger. The two should not be affecting one another at all
Just a note folks, our newest daughter came out a month early, and I've been spending a lot of time lately in the neonatal ICU subsequently. She's doing well, all things considered, but might be there for a while longer as everything develops to the point that it needs to. As such, I'm kind of scarce - my email is tpost@stackoverflow.com if something explodes and I'm needed to help fix it.
I'm going to (today or tomorrow) put something simple up using the digital ocean API that will allow ops to power cycle or reboot the server in case that's needed. Hasn't been up till now, don't think it will be, but better to have something to do it.

user43095
Wish you two luck @TimPost

I thought hax weren't supposed to piss you off every time you turn around.

@JeffreyLin confirmed wallhacker including full x-ray vision
he probably has aimbot too
valve pls ban

user43095
Why so many conduits?

user43095
But in all seriousness, does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening? I'm guessing it's an OpenGL error.

3:38 AM
@JeffreyLin Decent question for the site, actually. I have no idea how just setting up a dual boot could have caused that. The thing to look at is what GRUB might be doing to your video card on boot, but I'm kinda lost there.

user43095
I don't think it's that, as only Minecraft looks wonky, and I don't think any changes are permanent, just for that boot session. And GRUB is on a different removable drive (it's complicated).

I'm pretty stumped then. The whole dual boot thing might be a red herring, perhaps something else changed?

user43095
I remember java complaining and some stuff not working at first.

user43095
But I deleted all the libraries and made MC redownload them.

user43095
Could be OptiFine screwing up, but it seemed okay before.

3:46 AM
I'm going to blame OptiFine. Because blaming OptiFine seems like a good thing to do in all cases.

Ah, I actually removed OptiFine due to serious frame lag about a month ago. It's great until you get near stuff like smart cable, storage monitors, conduits, barrels, engines, etc. Then it just sucks unless you have some serious video card mojo going on

how do you make a crafting table?

user43095
@Player72 4 wooden planks in the inventory grid?

jk dude
lol how r u guys?

user43095
Tripping out over the graphics problem.

3:50 AM
@TimPost OptiFine is just blarg no

cool. i know nothing about that.
what is all that trippy-ass sht up there?

user43095
Heavily-modded Minecraft

oh

Hax, that's what it is
That's what his Minecraft looks like when he turns off his wallhack

So it seems like Hybrid Solar Helmet requires a QuantumSuit Helmet that was just crafted. :(

wtf is taht thing in hotbar 7 and 8?
I wanna talk on another chat but i have 17/20 rep
-.-

user43095
Bag of holding and pebble of suffocation.

lol

@Player72 You only need 20 network rep
20 rep on any site on the network
(you have at least 50)

user43095
He has 74.

user43095
3:54 AM
How do you passively charge the QuantumSuit?

user43095
Because the solar helmet option seems out

You... can't without a hybrid solar at least
I think
Probably

user43095
I has a hybrid solar

I mean helmet?
What do you mean passive?

user43095
Like without me needing to take it off and put it in an MFSU.

user43095
3:57 AM
Ex running or whatever.

YOu'd need some type of hybrid solar helmet
Maybe ultimate hybrid
Not certain
Not too familiar with Advanced Solars

user43095
Nope, just tried recipe with Ultimate Hybrid instead, doesn't work.

user43095
Must be a bug.

I dunno then
Not too familiar with Advanced Solars

user43095
Well I'm going to bed. Bye guys.

3:59 AM
You could just have two of them
And charge them alternating

4:11 AM
@Unionhawk oh universal rep. i see.

@JeffreyLin The ultimate and quantum solar helmets are buggy, just give yourself one once you can make either

nope, still doesn't work. says i need 20 rep on overflow

Ah. SO must be different

always SO
gdi stupid downvotes
im using irc in the meantime
my question isn't getting answers

@Player72 Putting "URGENT" in a title is pretty much a guaranteed downvote
(and tends to put off folks that might be able to answer)

4:21 AM
how ironic. might as well fix that.
ok. if anyone on here knows anything about python, that'll be great.
@TimPost do you know python by any chance

QED: Requires Enderflux Crystals but needs power to make enderflux crystals?

2:54 PM
iirc the ender flux crystals are a vanilla crafting recipe

user43095
3:21 PM
Ohh

user43095
Made myself a magnum torch, that should result in less holes in my house

3:51 PM
@Jochem there's also a QED recipe that makes more

user43095
4:17 PM
Well I made a cursed earth mob spawning box

user43095
It's a pain in the butt

4:54 PM
@JeffreyLin Check out the powered spawners from EnderIO
Ah shoot, that's right, I have to update the mod before that will work
I'll try to get that done tomorrow
Basically (once updated) you get a broken spawner for every spawner you break. You then put that broken spawner in an anvil with a blank powered spawner, then it becomes a spawner for that mob (blaze, skeleton, spiders, zombies for now, and I think endermen)
Then just add RF and (if you set it up that way) redstone, instant mobs

user43095
Oh cool. So its like that OP mod we had. SoulShards or something.

A bit more well-balanced, but yeah. Works on villagers too

user43095
Oh cool.

user43095
Although MFR Safari Nets are also okay.

I like the powered spawners because automation. Say you want, I don't know, 20 blaze rods in your storage system at all times. Get down to 5, emit a redstone signal that turns on the blaze spawner, activate mob grinder, and that's that.
The 1.7.10 version has a 'killer joe' which takes care of the grinding part, and gathers experience orbs for you.

user43095
5:15 PM
I would use the blaze rods in a boiler.

user43095
Or steak in culinary generators.

Ender IO also has an animal breeder, it will continuously feed sheep / cows / chicken / pigs provided you give them enough room
So if you want top sirloin culinary generators, it's simple enough
He started off with the mod pretty focused, but lately, Crazy Pants has just been throwing in all kinds of really cool stuff.

user43095
I think railcraft also has one.

user43095
But you actually need to give it wheat.

It might actually be from railcraft, I might have my mods mixed
(though he really is adding all kinds of random but great stuff)

user43095
5:23 PM
Yeah, I like EnderIO.

user43095
Although it's weird how it doesn't extract from drums.

it does?
From any side

@JeffreyLin It does. Did you use pressurized conduits?
If you use the non-pressurized ones, you have to make 'gravity' help you (e.g. extract from the bottom)

Thaumcraft has one too, it runs off... vitus I think

and it won't push fluids uphill.

5:25 PM
an animal breeder that is

@Jochem yeah

user43095
@TimPost I used the ender one

Odd. The ender one is just like the pressurized one with more capacity. Could be a bug. Just use the pressurized one unless you need that kind of volume

I'm using the basic ones and that works

I might be doing a blog post to cover what I discovered doing all of the power gen stuff I have been doing. Turns out, survivalist generators are your very best option late-game and early game. Once you have some energy storage in place, half a stack of saplings is all you need for 100k rf, multiply that x 50 or more, and you never run out.
or basically anything you have in your system that burns.

5:37 PM
Doing stuff like that seems against the spirit of the thing though, personally
for me

Well, the balance there is, you have to be to the point where you're not dipping into more than 1/3 of the internal reserve of any single generator to refill your power storage. That's .. costly, both in time in resources. I think it balances pretty well.

I'm saying the spirit of the thing is "it's great for early game power", and the x64 option/using 64 of them manually just defeats that.

I'd like a more expensive model to build, that had a larger internal storage capacity. Still great for turning stuff you have laying around in storage and will probably just keep accumulating into power, but perhaps twice as costly to make.
It's funny, I used them just to not waste stuff coming out of the tree farms, but the survival generators ended up giving me more than the boilers / steam engines I had the tree farms set up to feed.
Oh, yeah, and IC2 machines need to play nicely with other power systems. The most inefficient part of any system I could come up with to power 'all the things' was conversion to EU.
Reactors are cool, though. But that's not centralized power.

user43095
6:26 PM
I did some testing and I think the sterling generator from EnderIO produces more RF than a survivalist generator if you have a Octadic Capacitor in the Sterling slot

user43095
7:11 PM
Block of coal coke in a High-temperature furnace generator = 400 RF/t

user43095
7:41 PM
You might actually be able to cheat it by taking the block of coal coke out before it gets consumed.

9:13 PM
also: blarg the DW20 pack needs to be out sooner I want to play 1.7.10 modded stuff without playing the unstable pack

Yes, I wants all the DW20s
I might see about setting up a server for mplayer 1.7.10

I have heard such things
And if that happens I might be building a base with the paperbot

Sweet
Time for bed, moving day pt 2 tomorrow
uugh so tired

FORT AMERICA AKA FORT KICKASS IS HAPPENING (I'm calling it that whether he likes it or not)

9:28 PM
I approve, I think we might need to compete with a Fort Europe
Where we will have free medical care and good internet! :D
Or at least in parts of it

silly, food is the same as medical care in Minecraft
WE STILL WIN HAHA
oh man, this Survival of the Fittest stuff is so cool (heavily modded DayZ type gametype free-for-all last man standing)

Nice, I am going to bed now before I fall asleep in this chair
Cya

1 block, 1000 RF

The principle of the high temperature is that you have a constant fuel supply

user43095
Yep, just ran out. Drat.

user43095
I mean, if you have enough resources to feed that monster, might as well just have a HP boiler..

@Unionhawk Also thanks Rorax this is how I must gather resources now.
