Hello

so, this is my problem..

If it was, absolutely.
I'm not even trolling with that message.

@nhgrif - I think the issue here is that you're losing your sense of humour.
Which is understandable. You've had a small ban and no-one likes that.
Perhaps take a short breather, step away from the keyboard and return refreshed and ready to talk about code reviewing.

...
No, I'm serious. The golden rule is fine, and I abide by that.
I don't know what sense of humor has to do with this.
As long as people are talking about my content, I want them to say whatever is honest.

@nhgrif - There's a degree of honesty that some people find borders on rudeness.

And anything short of that is what I consider rude.

I'm willing to bet that if you focused on what could be done to improve a poor post, it would be far better received/

That feedback had already been given.
So, containing fluff like "thanks" or typos like "teh" somehow disqualifies a question from being helpful? Plus other things like "any ideas"? Or "expert"? I'm not sure how it even remotely makes sense that some of the phrases you've included automatically make a question entirely unhelpful. — nhgrif 1 hour ago

@nhgrif - Indeed. I guess it's a question of either accepting that you're gonna keep getting banned or accepting that you need to change how you express yourself.
Either are fine choices

In chat, I was trying to have a conversation about the topic
Because people like me less and therefore flag me more
Even though ultimately, nothing I say in chat is worse than anything anyone else has said in that chat room

@nhgrif - Agreed. And has you flagged it when it first came up, it probably would have gotten modded.

I guess I'll just be more vigilante about flagging even this stuff I consider okay but apparently isn't, and as those flags are continually accepted, I'll realize better what the standard is

11:27 PM
@nhgrif - The general rule is that if it upsets you, flag it. If you think it will upset others, flag it.

And the caveat to that is that most people have really thin skins.
Particularly so in the 2nd monitor, it seems.

@nhgrif - As I said, accept it or get splatted.

Gnight
