Hello!!

Is someone of you familiar with the following?

We have linear differential equations with polynomial coefficients depending on x.

$a_n(x)y^{(n)}+ \dots a_1(x)y^{(1)}+a_0(x)y^{(0)}=b(x)$

There are problems like if there are solutions, if the solutions are linear independent and so on and we are looking for the decidability and the complexity.

@vzn so one of the guys in programmers said stats might be a better route for me. But Im still thinking CS. I can learn math on my own. I know a good deal of math. Its my understanding of computers, their design, how to design complex programs, how to debug, hos to evaluate algorithm efficiency.....that kind of stuff I want to learn more about.
The question they raised was "what cant U learn on my own that I can learn in school?" and tbh I have no idea because computers and technology isnt something Ive spent a lot of time working with or developing. Im not totally ignorant midn you but I want to become competent.
Thoughts?

@StanShunpike for me in school there were things to enjoy out of personal interest, and things to pursue that would be resume builder/ fodder that would "pay off" with a job or whatever later. lucky for me, there was major overlap. so (for me) it helps to try to figure out "which is which".
@MaryStar those are covered in std diffeq books & even discrete math books.
