Pete, the only reason I keep tagging you on this stuff is because you seem to be our resident Cryptic Crossword expert, though I don't even know that question three has any cryptic elements. He said that part two does, but I can't get a handle on anything in that jumble whatsoever.
:P
There's a crude answer of 'confectioner' on the question, which Nyk has said is VERY CLOSE. It might be a good place to start from

Jeez. Lots to read there if I want to be up to date on what everyone's done so far!
I think whoever gets this one will deserve a bounty...

Yes I'm unsure whether there's a cryptic element. As for confectioner, Nyk goes on to say "you have the right approach, just not the right words", so all I can assume is that the right answer has something sweet / sugary about it.

He did say it's related to parts 1 and 2, and part 1's answer was Spice
I can't figure out what he means by 'a piece of pie' that would sound different than it looks

Drawing a blank on that also

For anyone who joins, the real important hint is: "The first half of the first stanza, first line of the third,as well as the second, are clues as to the riddle's answer. The third line in the first stanza, from 3-1, and the rest of the third, from 1-3, gives hints as to the 3 words that together make up the solution, in the order given."
so the first word is something to do with a surly cook and a piece of pie
the second word is something to do with a crook and a rude crude man
the third word is something to do with a book and a real clean freak
I can't get a handle on a single one. I feel like if I could figure out one the rest could fall into place

Peppermint comes to mind - it has the spice thing and the P thing (whatever that is) but pepper has been mentioned before and Nyk didn't comment on it
All I've thought of for real clean freak is OCD which doesn't help a jot

The word for crook and rude crude man is allegedly intact, which means that if we find it we've found our center
but...I don't know what it is
'con' is something that I think fits
since a crook uses a con, and a rude man could be a con (I guess)
Though con was part of confectioner and nyk said that answer used the 'wrong words'

11:30 PM
You could probably find any synonym of crook and it'd fit with rude crude man

True, I suppose, haha
Also worth noting that the original version was simply: "With tips of three,

what could I be?

A book, a crook, a surly cook,

use me segmentedly!!!"

Yep, it has evolved that's for sure!

I'm hoping that it's still solvable with the initial version
I'll say that I'm not any less confused with the more information

I don't know how you're supposed to guess that the clues go back to front without the hint

yeah, that one's a bit...this whole puzzle is a bit wonky
Reading through all the comments is just more confusing
@nyk232, are you out there? D:

Nyk states "the subject and the answer match the theme of the puzzle", What is "the subject"?

I have no idea
maybe the answer to question 2?
