@derobert @Gilles beat you to it :P

Anyone here worked ever on the dovecot mail server ever?

@strugee OK, thanks for the feedback.

@slm @derobert @strugee please read my question

@williams I don't see a question by you on Unix/Linux SE or any other SO/SE site that is recent

@Anthon This is my question which i wrote here Anyone here worked ever on the dovecot mail server ever?

Ok, I interpreted that as a question on the QA site. I am using dovecot
Have been for several years.

Oh great. I need help in that
and did same as like this but I want mta to test the mail server
can you help me for sending the mail for testing purpose? what and how can i ?

I would prefer you post that as q real question, if it needs chatting then we (or you and someone more knowledgeable about these matters) can come back here. That way others more easily have access to the information. Make sure to describe the question including what MTA you are using.
If testing the setup is the main issue.

9:25 AM
I've setup the dovecot
But I don't have knowledge for the What MTA should i install and How to use it?

That is a good question for the main site, just post it.

Can't you tell me here pls

Sorry I think you might be on the wrong site, please re-read my preference and read up on what StackExchange is about: unix.stackexchange.com/tour
I don't mind helping out others, but doing so in a chat makes it obtuse and is asking for repeat questions as it is not easy to search a chat, nor has it a clear mechanism of combining (good) answers with questions especially if there are multiple ones.

Can anybody look at this issue please askubuntu.com/questions/390151/…
@Gilles please help me...
@derobert Please help me...

@captain don't spam random people to help you in chat
your question is on the site, people will get around to answering it when they see it

Q: Linking a shared library in the subdirectory of /usr/lib

Vitalius KuchalskisHow can I link a shared library which is in /usr/lib/src-con with ldconfig command? I'm able to link libraries in /usr/lib, unless they are in subdirectories.

Ugh. We need to find a way to discourage people from ping-spamming questions...
And I need to figure out how to turn off the audible alert for the StackExchange App at night. On my phone. And tablet. And other phone.
DING DING DING
LightFlow probably will do that, but... I'm a devoted Linux user. And I found that interface too #(@!# complicated...

4:25 PM
(Or maybe it was all the defaults that came with it, don't quite remember)

@derobert seems to me like it's just today, I haven't noticed it a lot otherwise
@derobert and does setting the global volume settings not work?

@strugee Well, that would, and is easy enough to do with Tasker, but the problem is I want some of the alerts to still play—just not a lot of them
E.g., monitoring system telling me my production DB has crashed vs. you have a chat reply on SE.

ah. right...
@Anthon new profile picture?

@strugee @derobert - yeah I try to discourage that in the room. But some ppl don't understand that we're here helping b/c we want to not b/c we have to and our help is on our terms 8-)
@Anthon - what's up w/ the new profile pic?

6:54 PM
you all told him that he looks like Cap. Picard... maybe he doesn't want..

@slm SO 70 or so that was me. The profile pick is my setup at home for the last year or so: 2 x landscape + 1 portrait, keyboard and mouse.
jasonwryan had a new picture, that was the inspiration to do something. And I had gotten bored looking at myself (and overwhelmed with all the fan mail from females on SO/SE )

slm
@Anthon - lol I just fell out of my chair with the last part
thanks for the UV's
3k has been eluding me over there
