A: Quick navigation between answers

Grimbodestatus-completed person who answered now shown the answer score shown owner reps shown box floats correctly Awesome script. Here is a eventual feature for it that could be useful. Instead of listing answers 'anonymously' you could have the person who answered, their reputation, their upvo...

Lol, I'll consider :) Also: avatar, number of votes, number of the question / answers they provided, etc :D
But seriously, where would you find so much space?
Wait, the last screenshot is the bug in your browser. The question content always flows center.

@nicael actually I cut the screenshot. There is equal space on the right.

Got it; approve my edit :)

@nicael I thought about it. Probably just the upvote count would be good enough.

Hey, I've made it! approve another edit :)

3:24 PM
@nicael trying it out and it looks awesome!

I've made a tool on my server for collaborative editing. We can use this tool as a dev version of script and push the ready version to GreasyFork, agree? Or we can make it the production version, but this will prevent us testing together.
(It requires access token, once you're ready to get it, ping me)

@nicael I'm ready. Just where do I get my access token from?
Yes I am done and signed up.

That's fine! Can you push a new version? (add some comments to the code and check)

Yeah works just fine. ;)

Nice :) Now we can decide, will it be a dev or destination version?

3:25 PM
yup
destination version. You mean master version aye?

I thought we can use it as dev version, test something and then push to GreasyFork.
Because otherwise users can see buggy version...
But anyway.

Sure. It's a small project with only two people on it.

Seems that there're not really many users who download it, so linking this script as the destination one?
(I mean in my question and another answer on MSE)

There are not many users that have heard about it I think.
I think we should just really focus on options and the overall design.

Okay, so making justachat.freevar.com/quicknav.user.js as a destination.

3:32 PM
Yup
Think about github though and using git. Really useful in group projects.
And it's easy for people to check it out and try it out.

And why in the current way it isn't easy? Just click the link and get.

Because the general idea would be to create the git project on your server with two branches. Master branch and dev branch. Then I would simply clone the dev branch locally.. work on it locally then commit and push my updates to the branch dev.
It is a good idea. I'm just talking about good practice
for future projects that will require git
What of stats though? How many people have tried it out other than us two?
If there are any others

I don't think that any other, if GreasyFork doesn't lie.
Says two, so only me and you; but why have I got more upvotes then?... Who is upvoting without knowing what is it?

If you want my honest opinion stackapps looks dead. I think they are only upvoting because there is finally something new to upvote
haha

lol :D
But I got three upvotes on MSE :)

3:38 PM
Here another honest opinion

greasyfork.org/en/scripts/10726-quick-nav <- two downloads total :) I can spread it in the Tavern on Meta though :)

I think 80% won't go through the trouble of trying to install an unofficial plugin
I mean I had to download and install a seperate plugin to test out your plugin
I think it was called Tampermonkey
And I was thinking man
So many people want this and that features
features that most of the time simply require an addon
For example check this out
-3
Q: Allow disabling of real-time update

DavidGCan you please add an option to disable the real-time update when using the new navigation? Or at least don't mess with the page title? Questions are asked/modified so frequently that my title bar is updating quite often and it's distracting (and rather pointless if it's pretty constant) 1 new u...

But when one talks about user script, they assume also a plugin to handle those scripts.

This poor guy just wants to disable real time updates and he's getting downvoted because the developpers WILL never spend precious time on this

Um, write a user script then? :)

3:42 PM
Yeah I will. Maybe tonight after I hit the gym
We should just create the ultimate addon with options
lots of options
haha

Actually, the option on Stack Overflow is to fall below 50 rep :D
Then you stop getting realtime :P

lol
True but I think just stopping the event getting real time info would be easier no?
I'll look into this. We should also log all the easy stuff we can add to the plugin

StackExchange.realtime=null should do the job

So when it gets completed we link it to the post
to the user that wanted it
sees it and uses it.

Oh now it doesn't work...
Partly

3:45 PM
Did you try it out?

It prevents clicking "new activity" but still adds new activity :D

Does it disable the notifications in the title?

No :(

Must be something else then. Well alright, I'm going to head off to the gym. I'll talk to you later. Here's my email if you want to get intouch with me
kevin.faulhaber@gmail.com

Why email, we have a chatroom here
lol, javascript:StackExchange=null; stops anything, so it's a fix :D

3:48 PM
X)
Stops too much though.
Well I'm at work right now, and I'm heading home. I'd have to email the chat to myself or something.
There I did it.
Well talk to you later.

Bye :)
