@DeathMaskSalesman Well that makes three then.

@DanBrown,@DanHulme,@AndrewT. Agree and I feel it's because of the badge you get suffrage badge, though recent awardees do not tally with the upswing

I see.
Besides, I'm not quite happy with some ROM devs' decision to blacklist certain apps.

Q: Question of duplicity of a question

xavier_fakeratIt is possible or okay to flag a question as a duplicate if it was asked earlier, and the one asked later already has an accepted answer but the context is very similar: Consider this question: How do I connect Internet from a laptop using USB modem to a Galaxy S3, or directly USB modem(data ca...

@beeshyams This is the power of greed, pal.

3:21 PM
@DeathMaskSalesman: True and there is no guarantee that VPNs won't either ( I got this input from Tunnel Bear mailer)

@beeshyams I said it before and I'll say it again: freedom is dying. By the way, Android is dying as well and custom ROM developers are more concerned with their antipiracy measures (read: money) than they are about protecting freedom. This is capitalism.

Amen

@beeshyams Cascade via TOR then. And just to confuse the heck out of them, have a script running that does not go via TOR, and instead makes calls to the Vatican pages plus Watchtower. Call that script CatholicWitness. Might be interesting then to whom they sell that profile #D
Whoever has sufficient bandwidth available should do something like that: hide the "real data" (TOR), and let them ISPs be fed by fakes (CatholicWitness, PornoPriest, whatever nice combinations one can come up with ;)

@izzy: wickedly good suggestion :)

Thought so. Did something similar with loyalty cards in the past: Got two "backup cards" tied to my account, and "spread the word": Gave two to relatives in other areas, kept one to myself. They might have wondered how I was able to be at a gas station while shopping in a mall 800km apart at the same time #D
(while in fact I was sitting at home, oops…)

+1 for the quote. Seriously, you may like to consider a detailed write up on your blog

@beeshyams I was somehow considering something like that when I'm done going through all my lists pointing out "intrusive modules" (see: Beware those snooping mods!). Just being in the middle of that task.
One of the reasons I was asking about Dangers of ad modules in apps: How to find out about them before installing an app, preferably just by its package name?
Appbrain gives you an idea in many, but not in all cases (as it only reports those found by it's Ad Detector app on users devices). And it cannot be parsed automatically (has no API).
I've also asked on our sister site for an API to access details on modules in Android apps. Not that I got much attention with that (6 views in 21 days). People don't seem to care.
And try finding out which are those "intrusive modules". Not an easy task to accomplish. Up to now I've identified 6 of them. I'm sure that's just the tip of the "ice berg".

@izzy: very interesting - bookmarked for later reading and upvoted on both sites. Make an app out of it and post in play store- top 10 impossible things to do :)
Just installed and ran Anti adware and Yahoo has flurry - others have in mobi :(
App brain has inmobi and Mopub and it's expected to warn?

On a lighter, unrelated topic, I may be writing for androidguys.com soon! ^^^Anyway, glad not to be American>

@DanBrown : congrats and do share links :)

5:54 PM
@beeshyams Will do as and when they come through. It's mostly app reviews, but I'll sneak in other stuff ;)

@beeshyams Double impossible for me: Still don't have the sources, and cannot write Android apps :)
@beeshyams My thoughts exactly. Don't they trust their own AdModule? Or would that mean they'd have to pay themselves then? ;)
@DanBrown Congrats fro me, too – and I can confirm the second half of that as well #D

7:57 PM
@beeshyams Oh, and thanks for the upvotes. Still thinking whether placing a bounty on one of them would help a bit. But seeing how few people even bothered taking a look at it, I somehow doubt it.
