I was thinking of a feature request but thought should ask a moderator about it before posting it on Meta. Anyhow, I think I can ask you the same :). Has there been an attempt to somehow allow Google Play search here on this website? While asking/answering/commenting there are times(many actually) when a user has to link app(s) and mostly, new users doesn't mention hyperlink.

Could an arrangement be made (like [tag:]) so that I can see an app from play store (no need to switch browser tab) and link it here rather than going to store, copy URL and paste it here? // The way you get suggestions while typing a title for a question, can we not get the same for this play store search feature?

@Firelord Our mods are rarely to find here in chat. That's something I've mentioned a couple of times already: on SoftwareRecs.SE, you usually find at least one of them in, most of the time even 2. But I'm pretty sure they at least "follow here silently".

@Firelord Quite a bit specific and, I'm afraid, to much to do just for one site (though that might be useful for SoftwareRecs as well). How do you think that should work? There are too many apps sharing their names (or at least most of the name), so simply "looking up" the name wouldn't do. The only way for "direct hits" is typing their package name – and if you can do that, you can also prepend the rest of the URL using some clipboard tool ;)

@Izzy Thanks! About the working: it is true that simply "looking up" won't be much helpful but there is a catch here. I'm sharing the analogy with an already existing feature. While asking a question on many SE sites, in the title as soon as you mention few words the website tries to show you some already existing questions with status (votes/accepted in no. and green color) corresponding to each of them.

@Firelord Sounds doable to me. But I don't think "new users" will know to use the curly braces :)

@Izzy Hmm, that's true. How about when a user types app word and an option comes up to add a play store link (you can add keywords then to search in it). This option will show as a drop-down entry below any app word (so that it doesn't hinder the flow of writing). In this way, we don't have to tell a new user to use braces or something since the option would pop-up (provided that app word is being typed).

May be other than app, we can extend this to use and try word as well.

@Firelord Not like that at all. I could rather think of a "playstore icon" on the editor window (next to the "insert image" one).
