9:30 AM
I am beginning to think the "I want to do X. Is there an app?" questions are vastly preferable to "I want to do X, but I don't want to install an app."

3 hours later…

hi

hello

remember my post on Ad after the what's app close

vaguely

As @Izzy had suggested i downloaded the ad detector to check whether it's really what's app which was causing the ad's
but to my suprise it was not what's app
it shows some 10 apps that have ad plugins

Q: Why do I see adverts after closing WhatsApp?

user285oo6Every time I close WhatsApp I get some sort of an advertisement. According to their site they don't advertise, but I see adverts like this after closing the app: Click image for larger version I have contacted the WhatsApp support team and their reply was: WhatsApp does not advertise. I...

@user285oo6 Didn't surprise me (see my comment there).

Q: Pop-up advertising message filling the screen

so-olitarySony Xperia M, model C1905. Android 4.3 official firmware, build number 15.4.A.1.9 The blue button on the message is a link to play.google.com of "du speed booster" page. It is a useless application. All of applications on a phone installed from google play site. First time I thought, this mes...

As in your case, the ad is also "plastering the entire screen", it might well be the same SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW indicator for you (@DanHulme being a dev himself might be able to give more details on my vague ideas here: if that always happens when you close WhatsApp, it might involve an established listener on some Broadcast?)

don't look at me, I didn't write it

1:51 PM
@DanHulme No? Bang, that had been such an easy answer #D
I was rather thinking you could tell what permission might be involved to always do something when a certain app closes (registering some listener or the like). Which would help narrow down the list of potential candidates.

I don't know, I've never had to do anything like that

@DanHulme Wouldn't have expected you doing such evil things ;) Was worth asking, as reacting on "app X was closed" can also serve positive aspects. Anyhow, thanks!
Watch out for links to "itworldplus.com" in the context "your answer is there, you just have to find it". I've flagged it for mod attention (in the hope we can blacklist that host/link), so I cannot flag it SPAM as well.

oh yeah, that was where I saw that link before

2:07 PM
@DanHulme More than once, unfortunately.

oh, this is only the second time I've seen it

On a second look: This time it's even a link that might answer the question.

yeah, it's not really spam, but it is a link-only answer

In the past, it was mostly a link to the "start page" with a remark "watch for posts from X".

yeah, the other one I saw was that

2:13 PM
Looks like that "itworldplus" site is just a kind of aggregator. The article linked here was a copy from an article on AndroidPIT. But at least they name their sources ;)
