@ÉbeIsaac Thank you for the job well done (rejecting the vandalism of the suggested edit). That was scary.

Good job, @ÉbeIsaac đź‘Ť
I was surprised his "dense" remark stayed up for so long ...

Thank you, @scaaahu and @user58865. That was really weird, have you ever come across this sort before?

6:44 AM
@ÉbeIsaac Yes, I saw that kind of things before. People have used the proposed edit trying to inject spams into our system. a high rep user (much higher than I have) actually approved such an edit which had spam in it. Fortunately, I and another user saw it and rejected it. I think the suggested edit is the most vulnerable of our system. It takes only two >2k users to approve a bad edit. I have seen more than a few such approvals that were not supposed to be approved. Thanks again.

@scaaahu I presume you are talking about this one. I would not call it vandalism, as this implies intention. However, it’s fascinating how somebody manages to get so confused that they try to ask a question by editing a tag wiki.

@Wrzlprmft Well, it's weird and scary. That's for sure. It's not the first time I bumped into this kind of thing when I approved the suggested edits.
Some people used editing tag wiki to ask questions, to inject spams and to actually answer question (there was one case I caught) if I recall correctly. I guess some of them were not intentional. They probably thought that was the way to do things when they had to put in tags when they ask questions. Some of them were intentional. They thought this is the loop hole.

@Wrzlprmft What you say could be possible, *if* a person does try to ask a question by accidentally clicking on the 'Tag' section instead of the 'Question' section, *if* he clicked one of the tags assuming they were sections to ask the question on, *if* the click on 'improve tag info' instead of 'Ask Question', and *if* he chooses to add on to the information provided instead of deleting what is there.
That is a lot of *if*s. Unintentional? More like plain irrational! This is not the first time the user suggested that kind of edit too.

11:28 AM
@Wrzlprmft Would you like to see this one?

@scaaahu That’s another user, isn’t it?

11:45 AM
@Wrzlprmft That I don't know. I hope it's different one. I can't tell. Like I said, it's not the first time this kind things happened. My internet is unstable. Got to go.

I am writing a paper that references a bunch of unpublished manuscripts. I found this blog post to be super helpful for dealing with the citations.
