@StrongBad: Yes, it does seem reasonable to keep the post intact. In fact, I only realized it was locked when I attempted to up-vote the question. There is also a situation where the OP fear that his/her colleagues know of his/her alias, 'medical doctors'.

@ÉbeIsaac Someone who doesn't want their alias to be listed on a post can use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of every page to ask for that post to be "disassociated" from their account. The post's author will then be listed as an "anon" user and it won't show the username of the person who actually wrote it.
So, someone who is concerned about their colleagues knowing their alias doesn't need to delete a post, just ask for it to be disassociated instead.

@ff524 Yes, you're right. I think that is what @StrongBad was trying to convey in the comments of the respective post. Speaking of which, why didn't the OP go for this alternative when intimated? The post seems to be free from lock now, he could follow this procedure.

@ÉbeIsaac I think the OP of that post may not know the procedure ff524 was talking about. I have been here 4 years and 7 months. This is the first time I was explained what "anon" is even I had seen it many times before. Thanks to ff524 to explain this myth to me. I was wondering why there were so many "anon"s.

@scaaahu Actually, @StrongBad addressed it in the comments section of the OP's post. At first, I thought anons were there just because the OP closed the account. This is something new for me in StackExchange too.

@scaaahu this is actually pretty rare. Anon questions are more likely from unregistered users. Even if you are logged out you can still ask questions. more often we get people wanting to link one of these question with there account. you can also get anon questions when the question gets migrated. questions also become anon if the user deletes their account.
@ÉbeIsaac the OP could have asked for disassociation even when the post was locked. presumably the OP wanted it deleted or didn't understand.

@StrongBad Thanks for letting me know. Thanks to Ébe Isaac.
@ÉbeIsaac Thanks.

@gerrit Well, it doesn't grant a degree, so I don't know how accurate it is for the BBC to call that a university
But still interesting
