@EnthusiasticStudent Most questions here are not put on hold by moderators, afaik. Also, in comparison to the few other SE sites I linger at occasionally, we are very lenient in how we moderate things here.

I know the diamond moderators try, and I hope are successful, at having a light touch to moderation, as a community, I think we are pretty heavy handed on closing questions. We get a lot more discussion type questions than other SE sites and it became pretty clear during the beta that we really were interested in creating an identity as a Q and A site and not just another discussion site about academics.

This is hard for new users who often ask discussion questions.
