@AndrewGrimm I like to think the community (and mods) do our best to deal with sexists and thoughtless comments. One issue I struggle with is that academia as a whole, not just the SE site, has some pretty strong sexists tendencies and a reputation for being thoughtless.

I am considering writing a question about how to deal with an 'academic 'stalker'

@Omen sounds like a good question. I don't recall off the top of my head anything similar.

someone who follows my progress to 'check up on me', this is after he demolished a paper we submitted years ago and was very hostile in his disagreement with our contention

@Omen I think lots of people have academic enemies/stalkers so I think it sounds like a reasonable question.
