A: SE Additional Optional Features

ArtOfCodeThis appears to break the styling of title bars on at least beta SE sites. At load, the Custom Edit Reasons dialog pops up, and on closing this it appears that the topbar is using position:fixed. While I appreciate this, it would be good if it didn't obscure the top part of the title bar. (UPDAT...

You must have selected the 'Fix topbar position' in the options. (yes this is a separate feature!). You can see this is an option in itself in the screenshot.

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ another problem - the new profile layout doesn't appear to have the button for changing options. I'm having to change them within the code.

It does. i.stack.imgur.com/Ac9p3.png <<You can see in the screenshot it does on the new profile
Can you see anything on the console? There's no reason it shouldn't show up.

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ - yes, the problem was just the script wasn't active on the page and I hadn't realised. Sorted now.

Oh. OK - and the topbar issue? Have you disabled it now?

12:12 PM
@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ I've disabled it, but it would still be good if the page initially displayed showing the entire title bar.

Sorry. Don't understand?

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ Let me add a screenshot
@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ there we are

Ahhh. So you want it so that the top part isn't cut off?

@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ yeah. Call me archaic but I'm used to the equal spacing between top and bottom ;)

@ArtOfCode OK :) I'll see what I can do. it should be easy to do, but I haven't checked yet!

12:15 PM
@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ - I seem to remember having fixed a similar issue before - I think it was just finding the height of the topbar and offsetting the title bar by that much from the top.
Possibly.

@ArtOfCode I'm thinking I should do that! the topbar height is 34px
But what should I offset! I can't offset container or body

There we are then, you don't even need to find it in JS
There should be some <div> around the page or something, let me check
It is #container I think

thanks :) #container doesn't work
neither does #header

$("#container").css("top", "34px");?

I though container should, but it doesn't (?)
(it's a class) but no it doesn't work

12:18 PM
Hmm. You're right.

(not id :P)

yeah

header just moves the logo down a bit...

ok so css top doesn't work

neither does margin-top, padding-top...

12:22 PM
@ᔕᖺᘎᕊ solved

how!??

Use $("#header").css("margin-top", "34px");
AND $(".topbar").css("margin-top", "-34px");

hmm! it works

Move the header down, then shove the topbar back where it should be

that is clever :)

12:24 PM
It's not bad :)

I'll update the dev version and credit you in the comments and change log :) You can install the dev version in about 5 mins
thanks again :)

Cool :)
No prob
