Is it possible for a script to tell the difference between swamp and regular terrain other than having creeps walk on it?

9:43 PM
I know nothing about Screeps other than watching the video, and I'm brand new to JavaScript. I'm mainly here to make up the numbers and see what happens
Does your script get persistent memory or do you just react to the game from scratch each turn?

You can have persistant memory through the Memory object.

Would it gather more contributors if the message in main had more stars?

Maybe.

Q: How Do I Detect Swamps in Screeps

TheNumberOneIn screeps, I can see swamps using my browser window. However, I can find no way for my script to detect if the terrain is a swamp except for having my creeps walk around marking swamps they encounter as they go. Are there any other ways to detect swamps?

To answer your earlier question, each in-game object, like a creep or a spawn, has a memory object that can be written to and which persists as long as that object is alive.

@PhiNotPi The creeps memory object is stored in Memory.creeps[creepName]

That's probably a more accurate statement.

I'm thinking that a really powerful way to approach the Screeps game is to create a list of all possible tasks and then optimize which creep should do what.
But that would take a lot of work to do.

A lot of work to write or to run?
Is there a time limit per move?

@trichoplax Your CPU credits.

Ah I see
I'd love to see a game where your CPU credits are earned in game
So maybe there's something you can mine that gradually improves your CPU time

Nope.

Or you can choose whether to invest in upgrading weapons or CPU time
No I know they're not in this one
This one's aimed at making money...

What is this how did I get here
