Q: Smithing low level legendary set items

Craig HarrisI recently got Reaper of Souls, yes I know I'm late. I've been levelling up my characters to level 70 and I've been looking around for gear and gearing tips, and I've found that some of the legendary set items that I've already found the plans for (Aughild's, Captain Crimsons etc) are pretty good...

I know this might be off topic, however I would advise you to try out Titan Quest. It's better than Diablo 3 as long as you're not playing DIablo for the franchise. Has more depth better story etc... You won't regret it :)

@Chessbrain For story, yes. But (as a D2, TQ, TQ:IM, BL, BL2, BLTPS, D3, D3:RoS player) I'd say D3's gameplay and progression are much more polished (now, in version 2.2). So, if you play the game for the gameplay itself, D3 probably will come as a winner. Still, this only applies after experiencing story, art style and environment, and these are still good in TQ.
@CraigHarris, generally what you find at low levels is only good for those low levels. So, pre-70 crafted sets can be very powerful for a new character, when you already have the plan learned and materials stacked up. Apart from that, not really useful, yes.

@OrcJMR I beg to differ... Diablo3's gameplay system is based on grinding with a very limited skill options menu compared to TQ. In TQ you have a mastery system, no locked classes you are free to create your own unique class and in the expansion you get an additional mastery making it 9 in total. You also have stat points that greatly affect your gameplay. The amount of replay-ability in TQ is higher than D3 due to the Mastery system by itslef. The only thing D3 has that TQ doesn't are randomized levels. Everything else is in TQ's favor, you even have a youtube video comparing the 2, TQ won:)

@Chessbrain Searching Youtube didn't show any videos comparing TQ to Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls - I have specifically mentioned D3 version 2.2, as it is VASTLY different from its state two years ago, and I am the first to admit D3 1.0 was subpar. And seriously? They are comparing the ability to zoom in those videos, how is that a valid reason to say the game is better???

@OrcJMR The guy obviously said it was just his opinion... Don't get hung up on just 1 point in the entire video, 95% of the rest are more than valid :) And after googling I found the top 5 changes in D3 after the update, nothing major enough to change the outcome of the comparison >.> 1 new secondary character, enhanced loot, social features?(since it's online I guess), Difficulty setting (since when was that a "feature") and last "Adventure Mode" where your objective is to get to the Nephilim(and this is the only one worth mentioning). So no, the update doesn't change skills or game mechanics
@OrcJMR I am even a D2 fanboy and wanted to play D3, but no matter how I look at it, D3 isn't worth its price for what it offers, especially when a game made in 2006 (TQ) offers more... If you actually have reasons why D3 is better than TQ, please do share. But unless D3 that doesn't even allow you to wield more than a very few skills or have character customization improve on those core aspects or its own replayability factor, I don't see how it can beat TQ. Not to mention TQ's expansion adds an entire new location that takes hours and hours to finish. D3 can also be finished in 15-20 h >.>
