@Mr.Wizard Congratulations on reaching the 200k reputation mark!

@MarcoB Did someone ever found out if we can model the reputation growth? It doesn't only depend on the pace he is currently writing, but on the number, quality and general-interest-measure of all written answers. That should be interesting.
The number and experience and vote pattern of all users visible on the site at the specific date should be important as well. I guess that's going to be a hard one.

@MarcoB Thank you! :D

@Mr.Wizard Try to hit 222222! That would be awesome.

@halirutan I'm looking for a Q&A about fitting some text (e.g. a paragraph from Alice in wonderland) into an arbitrary shape/polygon. I'm fairly certain that I've seen it around and that you/Vitaliy/Szabolcs might have answered it. My memory and search-fu is failing me... do you have any idea? Or am I dreaming this up?

@R.M. This?

Q: How to create word clouds?

István ZacharWord clouds are rather useless fancy and visually appealing plots, where words are plotted with different sizes according to their frequency in a corpus. Many applications exist out there (Wordle, Tagxedo, etc.) that can give an example. I am interested in the algorithm that achieves the closest ...

@halirutan Not the word cloud. Something more like the last heart here: tutorialsroom.com/tutorials/details/text_in_shape.html?i=1

@R.M. Ah, so not inside the shape but along a defined path.

Q: Movable text on a curve

Alexey PopkovHaving an arbitrary curve defined as InterpolatingFunction, what is the best way to place a text on this curve? The text generally has two rows, for example: "This is\na text on a curve", the curve must go between the rows. I am interested both in character-based (preserving characters as selecta...

@halirutan No, it is inside the shape like tutorialsroom.com/tutorials/images/text_in_shape_04.gif
But I might have enough leads to go on, I think... thanks for the help!

@R.M. I shouldn't look only on the first image. I kind of remember something like this, but I cannot recall where exactly I have seen it. Sorry.

5:51 AM
No worries!

@R.M. Are you telling me, when you found a solution? I think I now how to implement it, but maybe you find something by searching.

@xzczd Thanks mate

@MapleSE-Area51Proposal You're welcome :)

@xzczd vote too plz

@MapleSE-Area51Proposal Currently those questions only have title?

@xzczd These are sample questions. So no answer is needed. It will just decide the content and relevance. BTW, you can ask 5 questions and vote 5 times

@MapleSE-Area51Proposal OK, I see

I got an email from WR about renewing my Home Edition Annual. Pleasantly surprised to see they now offer Home Edition Perpetual for $310 flat rate.

3:11 PM
@MapleSE-Area51Proposal I think that topic is an answer :)

3:28 PM
@Kuba I don't want to cause any inconvenience in any way. That's why I asked you.

3:50 PM
@MapleSE-Area51Proposal nice that you asked. And you took the time to find it on meta.
Thanks.

Q: Dollar signs and links

Michael E2The following Markdown code is mis-typeset on the main site: [`$MachineEpsilon`](http://reference.wolfram.com/language/ref/$MachineEpsilon.html), $\epsilon$ is $2^{-52}$. The key conditions seem to be a $ in the URL followed by two math modes in the same paragraph. It doesn't seem to matter w...

@Kuba @Maple Thanks, guys. It's a significant chunk of my life that I have given to this community; I am happy when people are appreciative.

@MichaelHale what does the perpetual mean? Free upgrades?

@MichaelHale What does that mean? Will you still have to pay again when v12 is out?
@SjoerdC.deVries sorry for the echo...

7:34 PM
@SjoerdC.deVries @Mr.Wizard I already responded to her saying I was interested but asking for clarification on that regard. The exact wording was:
I wanted to reach out to see what your experience has been. I wanted to also let you know of a few other licensing options that we have.
1) Home Edition Perpetual: $310 This would allow you have access to Mathematica without out an expiration date. You would also be able to upgrade you license as new versions are released.
2) Mathematica Online: This is a great new product that Wolfram offers that allows you the flexibility to work with Mathematica through a web browser. No more need to be locked down to one specific computer. There are monthly as well as annual subscriptions av

@MichaelHale Oh, so it's just the same old scheme, pay to "upgrade your license" with every release, even 10.x ones that primarily serve to fix what wasn't working.
Except now it is apparently $310 instead of $295.

@Mr.Wizard Yeah, that's one reading. If that's true then I don't understand the Home Edition Annual. Will it no longer start up at the end of this month?
If that's the case then of course it seems a better deal to just keep doing Home Edition Annuals instead of Home Edition Perpetual.

@Mr.Wizard I'm here now
I don't very understand your "must be wrapper before argument evaluation"
@Mr.Wizard It's seem you are busy now?
Well,It's deep into the night here now.It's time to bed for me.I will pay attention to your message when I awake. :)

7:58 PM
@yode Sorry I missed you! Our sleep times are not good for each other right now.

8:08 PM
@yode Here's the fractal thing from the other day, if you are still interested: community.wolfram.com/groups/-/m/t/1025046
