Is the Kernel creating expressions from boxes or is it converting them to string first?

Q: Why is my profile image different?

LaurelWhen I first signed up on a Stack Exchange site and got a profile image, it was this one (see my current user card): Later, I got Area 51 and SEDE profiles, and my user image there was a different identicon. @Kuba Look at it this way, if you describe yourself as "I excel at Mathematica" people imagine you are wearing a tweet jacket, glasses and have a humongous IQ. OTH if you say "I excel at JavaScript" they believe you are wearing a worn out hoody, a basecap and have a huge body from eating pizza. :)

@gwr You may be right, I have talked with couple of programmers lately and when they heard MMA- "I know, this geeky stuff, right?"
Yet face to face I couldn't hide my appearance ;)

I cannot get
Import[name_String, "MyFormat", ___? OptionQ]

Import[channel_, format_?ElementQ, opts___?OptionQ]
i.e. I cannot override the built-in patterns. Why?
Any ideas for how to increase the precedence of my form?

Java::argx1: Method named method defined in class blah.blah.blah.Object was called with an incor...

And it's been unanswered for two years now, so I'll post it here to bring some attention to it.

Note the frame color at the top and the bottom. Sometimes the GUI stuff is just awkward.
