@Oleksandr, that would be nice; I still have the disks for version 8, but I wouldn't know anybody here who has the new one, or Mathematica for that matter.
Yeah, I've read @halirutan's paper; good work on using Steffen. It should really be more well-known than it is.
@bob, "desperate" is a strong word :D but I'll have a look at the cloud when I get to an actual computer instead of a %#*+! smartphone… ;)

@Sjoerd, that's a graduate course?
(Damn smartphone…)

I'm doing part 2 now. Took me about 250-300 hours of my spare time.

@Sjoerd, looks like a really tough exam.

@Guesswhoitis. main problem is memorizing all the stuff. Exam regulations are quite funny nowadays: no watches and cuff links allowed. With the iWatch I can see the former but the latter is more difficult to understand. Four hours without drinks or food is also part of the fun.
BTW do you still have internet at home or will you be doing Internet using a cellphone's hotspot once your of is back?

Can anyone tell me which statistical method is used by SignedRankTest by default please? I can't find it in the documentation :c

5:33 PM
hey guys, I'd appreciate any help if anyone in here might give me a hand about a simple statistics problem:

Hi
Hi! Can someone help me how to get a second solution of a system of DAE? mathematica.stackexchange.com/questions/82633/…

@Sosi Are the Details&Options not enough? reference.wolfram.com/language/ref/SignedRankTest.html
"For univariate samples SignedRankTest performs the Wilcoxon signed rank test for medians of paired samples. A correction for ties is applied for permutation-based -values. By default, the test statistic is corrected for continuity and an asymptotic result is returned."
"For multivariate samples, SignedRankTest performs an affine invariant test for paired samples using standardized spatial signed ranks. The test statistic is assumed to follow a ChiSquareDistribution[dim] where dim is the dimension of the data."

@blochwave yes they are. I missed those paragraphs :\
Sorry

I've learnt about the Details&Options the hard way a lot...don't worry!

The stupid thing is, I was searching in there and didn't see that part! :(
Sorry once again, and thank you!

Everyone remembers their first bike, the scrapes and scars, the hard-earned road rash from learning to ride. Riding a bike is the only skill you never forget (or so the saying tells us), but if you’re feeling a little rusty, we know a great way to get reacquainted. Every May since 1956, the League of [...]

@Sjoerd "without drinks or food", aren't they fun people? :P
Actually, I'm staying with friends at the moment. So, if I do get that machine back, I'd still be using their connection.
@blochwave, after making the great jump from 5.2 to 8.0, I'd personally made sure I knew the most useful options of the functions I frequently use. I'm not exactly recommending my way to other people, but I went up to the point of actually reading the papers where the algorithms embodied by the Method setting were first introduced.
