@Pickett Are you around?
@Pickett Ping me when you're around and we'll try to figure out what's going on.

8:27 AM
@OleksandrR. Yes, we are all waiting for a SAMTEC connector (advertised at 50GB/s) that's not 125 bucks :D And that's the only thing I can say -- everything you wrote -- all valid points :D Do you have some software to run on it ? I can give you access to play around

8:52 AM
@Szabolcs I'm around

@Pickett just a sec ... could we make a new room?

9:15 AM
When you read other people's code:

The most awesome part is the "// this is a bridge" comment. It's what I see very often too.

@halirutan Chop Chop :D :D

@garej OP does not but have you seen answers? p.s. do not delete the question, duplicates should stay as road signs.

1:49 PM
@halirutan that is what happens when you write code for someone "self confident" ;)

@Kuba Are you around ?

2:15 PM
@Sektor Yes, what's up?

Which version do you use ?

@Sektor 10.1

Okay, can you try this
DiscretizeRegion[Disk[]]

@Sektor Yep, looks like discretized Disk

I haven't updated my version and on 10.0.0.0 this just throws a bunch o'errors
Ah, ok , so it's fixed

2:25 PM
:)

BTW do you have 5 more mins ?

@Sektor Works for me in 10.0.0.0

@Pickett Hmm, odd

3:10 PM
@Szabolcs I actually tried Do[RunProcess["date","StandardOutput"],{20000}] and got the same error. But it seems that StartProcess works fine.

Have you received links to Mma.se answers as suggestions by WRI support? I sent a feature suggestion and the reply I received had one; not that I would have had any problem with their response.

Oy, just wrote simple web scrapers for 23 different music and comedy venue event listings in Atlanta. Was good practice.

@MichaelHale Mathematica+Cases?

@Pickett Pretty much. A few were nice and had ICS calendar imports. A few were Facebook event pages. A few had WordPress AJAX calls to get calendar events which turned out to be one of the easier ones after I used Fiddler to see the POST calls.

@MichaelHale thanks for sharing. I've been doing some of that myself, so every time I hear about it it piques my interest. That looks like good practice indeed. You got lucky with the post call though, a better developer would have used the built-in protection against that.

Hi guys, quick question: It seems that Mathematica 10 is not as good as doing syntax coloring as 9 was, often times it seems to have the wrong coloring
I'm wondering if there's a setting to revert back to the older text renderer
