1:16 AM
My new side project

13 hours later…
1:56 PM
@AustinBurk Kinda conflates the meanings of software and vehicular crashes.

2:19 PM
I have no experience with using Manipulate or Dynamic, but can anyone tell me how I can extract the particle positions from inside this demonstration demonstrations.wolfram.com/… ? What I want is a list of 200 frames, each containing a snapshot of the particle positions at that moment. There's a lot going inside the Manipulate I don't understand :-S

3:05 PM
is there a simple way to delete all the downloaded data (like CountryData, ExampleData etc.) from within mathematica?

3 hours later…
6:19 PM
@MichaelE2 haha indeed

2 hours later…
8:45 PM
@MartinBüttner That would make a good main site question.

@Szabolcs I figured it was too trivial not to have been asked already ;)

9:04 PM
@MartinBüttner Maybe it has but I don't know anything better than looking in $UserBaseDirectory/Paclets, and that directory contains other things too that you might not want to remove.

alright, I might post it as a question that

@MartinBüttner Should be something based on this:

The question now is how to sort those paclets which you don't want vs more important stuff like GPUTools
@MartinBüttner So maybe PacletUninstall /@ PacletFind["*Data_*"]; RebuildPacletData[], but be careful. E.g. if you search for *Data* instead of *Data_* then it will also find Dataset and Database-related stuff.

ah, I wasn't aware of the PacletManager
I think that answers it already
might be possible to write an answer to the question I linked above based on that

9:09 PM
Go ahead if you like

ummm, is there any documentation for PlacetManager?

No
I don't know how it works and I'm not very comfortable with it.
That's why I started by looking at how CUDAResourcesUninstall works.

If you figure out something reliable that doesn't break your system, go ahead and write the answer!

undocumented features of a proprietary language ... awesome idea :D

9:13 PM
There's a tag for

(especially if those features can potentially mess up your system ^^)

@MartinBüttner Often that's why they're undocumented.
The thing with Mathematica is that it's pretty transparent. If you want to see how it's wired inside, most of the time it's possible. But all this internal stuff is not meant to be used by end users. "Undocumented" really means just that = not meant for users.

9:33 PM
@Szabolcs Hi, is this confirmation?: "I have filed the bug reports for the four issues in your email."

10:03 PM
@Szabolcs Hi, do you have any of plan to make a librarylink generator? I'm very interested in the idea of making such a package (as my very basic implementation is quiet rudimentary), and hope maybe I can contribute (if I'm qualified). I also use the librarylink quiet often and I think a generator package may certainly save me lots of time and may could help others too.

@xslittlegrass Yes, maybe in the future, but not right now. Sorry for not responding to you earlier, I wanted to look at your package in more detail first.

10:29 PM
@Szabolcs That's OK. Any suggestions/comments/mistakes on the package are very welcome.
