Apparently my earlier lunatic integration result (which can be reproduced with certain inputs even without ImplicitRegion) can be worked around with GenerateConditions -> False. WRI support saves the day, now I hope they actually fix the issue on maintenance so I don't need to sanity-check results from almost trivial Integrate expressions.
I've recently seen some good examples of old questions being re-answered by using the new capabilities of v10. I think this is a good thing to happen, and we probably should encourage our community to do so.
Moreover, I would like to be able to search for all those improvements. Now and in the f...
According to the documentation, the Mathieu characteristic function generates parameter a:
The characteristic value Subscript[a, r] gives the value of the
parameter a in y′′+(a-2q cos(2z))y=0 for which the solution has the

@brama Yes, but my understanding of Compile does really go beyond the manual. I don't really have the knowledge to answer authoritatively. All I could do is permute the options until something worked. But it seems fairly complicated and I haven't had time. The other question, where I was able to help, landed on the boundary of what I can do, as I recall.
@MichaelE2 ok..was just checking. I thought you might be interested in this bounty question since you answered a previous similar bounty question!!! This apart, your comment that listable functions can not be inlined turned out to be very valuable to me!! Thank you.
@brama The main motivation of a bounty to me is that it indicates someone really wants help (sometimes, at least), and that makes me really want to try to help them. :D Now if rep was in BitCoin, I might care about the points, too.
